Recently I purchased the OPO protective set. I was sorely disappointed when I discovered that the only way to use the glass screen protector was to remove the front half of the case. Additionally, the camera module was totally exposed and only had a small lip around it for protection. Hinge protection was non existent, which was truly baffling. Finally, the kickstand was laughably flimsy and would keel over at the slightest breeze. This case solves all of the above issues. I genuinely feel as though I could drop my phone without worrying about whether the hinge had sustained microdamage and could fail at any time. The plastic screen protector is cheap feeling but so was the original plastic screen protector applied at the factory. The kickstand is truly substantial, and easily supports the phone when it is opened up. Lastly, the camera modules are protected by solid polycarbonate against both shattering and scratching. I appreciate the grip this case provides, and do not find the hinge protector to be cumbersome when using the phone in the closed position. While this case certainly makes the phone bulky it does not add much weight and could save OPO owners having to send in their phones in for repair with no idea about when they would get it back. EDIT: I ended up modifying the case by carefully separating the plastic from the front piece and installing a glass screen protector. The screen sensitivity is much better, and glass actually does feel far smoother than plastic. As a suggestion to Poetic, perhaps this case would be better served not having a screen protector at all. This would give the end user the ability to install their own screen protector without having to meticulously separate the plastic screen protector from the front half of the case. Alternatively, it may be possible to integrate a glass screen protector into the case at the factory, but that may be cost-prohibitive. This case would be absolutely perfect if it allowed for a glass screen protector in some way, but as it stands the plastic screen protector is the biggest flaw in the product. ... show more

It's true that it's thick, but it contributes to better protection of my smartphone, which cost me a lot of money. I've been looking for cases, the choice is minimal for our oneplus open. The grip is good, the support is correct to put it in landscape as well as in portrait mode. The only downside is that the thickness of the shell on the main screen sometimes prevents me from touching the ends in some apps, other than that, nothing to report. To protect your phone, you have to make compromises between weight and ergonomics, otherwise you can use a thinner case, but at the expense of protection in case of a fall. The kickstand is only held to the frame by a tiny watch or eyeglass screw, and it takes a fair bit if force to pop it open. It broke within a week. There is no excuse for such a shoddy design, there is plenty of space for a decent screw without catching on the hinge plate of the phone.

The kickstand hinge is held in by one screw and covered by a sticker. The lower center hole was the the one being used and broke/stripped just after 5 uses of the kickstand. I was being careful too. The kickstand is just too stiff and a single screw isn't strong enough to hold it. I relocated the screw to the top left. Won't be using the kickstand ever again. Also the built-in screen protector is very thin so it seems to "float" and flex whenever I'm tapping the screen. I cut it out and use a tempered glass instead. Pros: Looks & edge protection Cons: Weak kickstand hinge, very thin screen protector, hinge protector is thicker than it needs to be & adds bulk to phone (adds more than 1cm wider than my old case) and also prevents the phone from opening completely on it's own (towards the end, will need to manually pry it open flat) ... show more

This case is the best protection out there for the OnePlus open. It's a little bulky but that's the price you pay if you want the protection for this phone. Love it. I will say after owning it for a bit, I'm not a fan of the built in screen protector. So I used a hair dryer to soften the adhesive of the built in protector, removed it, and put a dbrand tempered glass protector on the screen.     • Best protection you can find but the worst ergonomics

I wanted to love it, it's the best protection you can find for the OnePlus Open to this day but has 2 major flaws. The first and not so bad is the plastic attached screen protector that is just not necessary because you can use a glass one and will fit the case. But the second flaw it's just a no go for me,I have medium size hands and was just too uncomfortable to use the device with one hand with this case on, I avoided phones like s24 ultra because they're ridiculously wide and hard to use in one hand and with this case the OnePlus Open feels just as wide as those phones or even wider. My advice for the manufacturer is that this case would be perfect if you reduce the hinge protector as much as you can, the front and back part of the case aren't really bulky but the hinge protector is just crazy big. ... show more

I dropped my phone on the right (really the wrong) angle and height that I knew the phone was broken. To my pleasure, it only cracked the hinge portion of the case. This case is a phone Saver. I'll spend $60 for a case versus $1,000 for a new phone any day.
