If you’re looking for an audio interface that reminds you what silence sounds like—with the volume all the way up—look no further than the Hayner-Seek. This little box of disappointment promises recording capability, but what it delivers is more like a faint whisper from three rooms away… underwater… during a hurricane. Monitoring? Let’s just say I’ve heard better sound come out of a drive-thru speaker. It’s tinny, distorted, and makes everything sound like it’s being funneled through a soup can attached to a string. And yes, I checked all my cables, settings, and my sanity—because after spending this much on something “Made in China” (with all the quality control of a blindfolded dart throw), I had to be sure the problem wasn’t me. It wasn’t. Bottom line: If you want low-quality sound, poor monitoring, and the feeling of being ghosted by your own microphone—Hayner-Seek has you covered. For actual audio work? Keep seeking.

Update: So the seller contacted me to offer a new replacement unit at no cost, which I thought was very kind. So while I cannot recommend the unit I certainty can highly recommend this company for making this a good experience. I was excited to get this Podcast mixer. Sadly looks can be deceiving or maybe I got one that had been returned before or something. When you plug your headphones in, you get a constant "Buzz" and even with the gain at max there just was hardly any volume to the headphones. So not sure if I just got a bad unit or if this is a flaw in this model, but I did have to return it. Then you have to wait 30 days for your refund and that is only if they approve the return so I am hoping that I indeed do get my refund.
