This microphone/sound board kit is good for a teen or YA getting into podcasting. The moc is of decent quality and the board has some fun effects to play around with. My main gripe is the fact that this whole setup is attached to a PC, which means that by nature, the PC itself can and should be able to do everything this board does, and more, with some software. I get the fact that you might want a physical board with buttons and switches, but I'm not sure it's necessary. Either way, this is a good entry level kit, but if you are a little more advanced, I would skip it and opt for something more software based.

This is a good setup for a beginner that is looking to start podcasting and to even enjoy some karaoke. The sound mixer connected automagically with my Windows 11 machine and it was simple to get this running in under a couple of minutes. The instruction booklet states that the microphone is cardioid pickup however it is very sensitive and it picks up background sounds - use the mixer to adjust the pickup level. The windscreen that comes with the mic along and the pop shield give you a “pro” look and are helpful for clearing up the voice. The boom arm and the attachments are adjustable and hold the mic in place, they may feel a little light on the handling side however they hold the mic in place as expected. I had an issue with the adjusting screw that connected the mic holder to the boom arm - it was a bit short and the nut does not lock into the fastener. At first I couldn't lock the mic holder in place, but after finagling the adjusting screw I got it working fine. The mixing board has two mic inputs and two live outputs for recording and streaming, the accompany input works great for background music and even karaoke sing along in combination with the mixing board “eliminate”, “ducking” and “karaoke” feature buttons. The mixing board that I received had the “PUBG” button that would not light up and the “Electric Sound” button did not appear to do anything more than state the key change - I will play around with it some more to see which “Ladder Electric tones” that it changes. “Voice change” button is fun to use and the “Primal Sound” and “MC” buttons give a nice effect to the voice. The fader knobs all worked well and there was no static when you made your adjustments, the display level LED’s for the mic and headphones also worked as expected and are very helpful for setting you mic levels. The sounds from the sound effect buttons are a little hokey but the kids will have fun with them. The USB C port dual functions to charge the battery and also connect to your computer. This lightweight portable little mixer works well enough to take over to a party for some karaoke fun. Overall - good for a beginner podcaster or to have karaoke fun with your family and friends.
