  • Good Practice Tool
Good tool to practice chord fingering. When using the small Allen wrench for the strings, very small turns are required.

  • Good for practice but not enough frets
This is good for what it is- a PRACTICE neck- it makes no sound, it's for fingering practice only. Good when traveling and you want to practice what you've learned. But it only has 5 working frets- it has a 6th one, but unless your 4th finger is on that one and the rest above, it's useless. I returned it as I realize this isn't enough working frets for me. Oddly, I have yet to see a practice neck with 10 or more frets, which is what I would really like. ... show more

  • Beyond cheap.
I ordered this 3 weeks ago, which at the time was about 3 weeks into my guitar journey. At the time maybe it would have been somewhat useful but I am so far beyond any training this could provide now just by spending an hour or so a day with my guitar. If you are expecting to “tune” it you will be sadly disappointed. Do yourself a favor and keep your money. Spend it on a month of online lessons or something. Could possibly be used at your desk or lounge chair to build callouses on your fretting fingers and to help build muscle memory to a degree but even that’s a stretch. I didn’t expect much so it barely fits that description. ... show more

  • Good for Muscle Memory of Chord Shapes
This is actually an okay item (for the price) to help BEGINNERS build muscle memory of chord shapes. YES - it is cheap like other reviewers have said for this and similar products. NO - It does NOT feel the same as your guitar. NO - It will NOT make a good sound. I believe the ads have avoided saying that anything about sound - for GOOD reason. It sounds like a child's plastic guitar at best - except it's probably worse sounding. BUT, I use it a couple times in the evening while I am watching TV. I'll pick it up and form a couple of chord shapes. I've been using it to practice barre chord shapes. It CAN help you build muscle memory and help you begin to improve your ability to shift from one chord to another. I selected this particular product because it was cheap and looked about like all the others on the market. It's not something that you will impress ANYONE with. Despite the ads, you won't be playing this with friends. I probably wouldn't use it in front of anyone either. But the strings and frets are spaced pretty close to a guitar and the strings appear to be actual guitar strings, so you can start to build muscle memory for your chord shapes. I find it okay to practice a one chord shape at a time, but you MIGHT find it useful for switching back and forth from one chord shape to another. You won't be able to perfect your exact finger placement because you can't hear how your chords sound - do that on your guitar. In general, an okay prop for practicing chord shapes - and not much else. As you become a better guitar player, you will probably give or throw this away. I'm happy with the product for what it's worth. GLAD I didn't pay more money for one of the more expensive versions you can find from other sellers. ... show more

  • Perfect chord practice
This is exactly what I needed. I’m a new guitar player and I’m just trying to go from one chord to another and get my fingers to memorize where they need to be. Awesome, I can practice my chords on the sofa and not bother anyone in the house!!!!

  • Not Tunable
The concept is great but for beginners, they struggle enough to get their hands in the right place, it is vital that what is played sounds like it’s supposed to, and that is not possible. They provide a tool for tightening the strings but do not provide enough string to get them all to the correct notes. Tuning down is a problem because othe string become too loose. That said, if you know what you are doing, and just need to practice the fingering or strumming patterns it could be ok. I put in my headphones and play along with a recording without hearing the stick itself.that in mind- you get what you pay for. ... show more

  • Works as advertised. No issue for left handed players.
This tool is designed for learning fingering on the fretboard, it is not designed to make accurate sounding musical notes. That said, it works great for it's design, and is quiet enough to use while watching TV, commuting, etc. For me, I use it to practice scales and cords at work or on the bus. There are a few reviews that state if you're left handed, you can switch the strings to left handed, but my take on that is, why bother? This isn't designed to be musically accurate, so I just play it upside down with the bass strings on the bottom. ... show more

  • Great!
I use it to practice finger exercises and build finger strength and calluses. It's not an instrument and you don't pluck or strum it. It's purely for finger exercises. Google and Youtube finger exercises for your fingers.
