  • Well worth the money
I paid $14 and it’s a great value for the money. Big help to learn the cords between actual playing sessions on the guitar.

  • Good for keeping your calluses while traveling.
This little unit is intended ONLy to practice your fingering and keep your hard earned calluses when traveling without your guitar. It’s plastic, it’s lightweight it IS NOT an instrument but it effectively does what it’s supposed to do

  • Junk. Can’t tune, can’t practice, can’t restring
Couldn’t tune it to practice chord shapes on it. A string broke the first day when I tried to tune it; new sets strings also broke again and again without ever coming to any kind of tuning so I could practice shoes Great idea, frets are appropriately sized. But this is a piece of junk

  • Helpful in learning the chord shapes
I used this at work when I was on long hold times on the phone, just practicing transitioning from one chord to another. It also helped to develop the toughness on the finger tips (that I found to be the hardest part of playing). I still use this when trying to practice a difficult chord to learn. Some other reviewers complained about the sound of it, but I think they missed the point, this is not for making music, just practicing the chord placement. You would need a real guitar to listen to the quality of the chords. ... show more

  • Good for Muscle Memory of Chord Shapes
This is actually an okay item (for the price) to help BEGINNERS build muscle memory of chord shapes. YES - it is cheap like other reviewers have said for this and similar products. NO - It does NOT feel the same as your guitar. NO - It will NOT make a good sound. I believe the ads have avoided saying that anything about sound - for GOOD reason. It sounds like a child's plastic guitar at best - except it's probably worse sounding. BUT, I use it a couple times in the evening while I am watching TV. I'll pick it up and form a couple of chord shapes. I've been using it to practice barre chord shapes. It CAN help you build muscle memory and help you begin to improve your ability to shift from one chord to another. I selected this particular product because it was cheap and looked about like all the others on the market. It's not something that you will impress ANYONE with. Despite the ads, you won't be playing this with friends. I probably wouldn't use it in front of anyone either. But the strings and frets are spaced pretty close to a guitar and the strings appear to be actual guitar strings, so you can start to build muscle memory for your chord shapes. I find it okay to practice a one chord shape at a time, but you MIGHT find it useful for switching back and forth from one chord shape to another. You won't be able to perfect your exact finger placement because you can't hear how your chords sound - do that on your guitar. In general, an okay prop for practicing chord shapes - and not much else. As you become a better guitar player, you will probably give or throw this away. I'm happy with the product for what it's worth. GLAD I didn't pay more money for one of the more expensive versions you can find from other sellers. ... show more

  • Not a good solution
The idea of this is pretty cool but the execution isn’t great. It’s flimsy and feels more like a toy than a neck of a guitar. The black cover also does not stay on well. I would pass on this

  • Works as advertised. No issue for left handed players.
This tool is designed for learning fingering on the fretboard, it is not designed to make accurate sounding musical notes. That said, it works great for it's design, and is quiet enough to use while watching TV, commuting, etc. For me, I use it to practice scales and cords at work or on the bus. There are a few reviews that state if you're left handed, you can switch the strings to left handed, but my take on that is, why bother? This isn't designed to be musically accurate, so I just play it upside down with the bass strings on the bottom. ... show more

  • Some Usefulness
This can be useful on ling car rides or if you are in a place where you can’t play an actual guitar. I found it was good while you are learning triads, and for figuring out how to switch from one chord to another, but that’s about it. You won’t use it for very long, but it is somewhat useful for a time. FYI- You can’t pluck the strings, it’s only for fret hand use. ... show more
