  • Already saved my knee
Size: XLG Color: Basalight Blue
These knee pads have already saved my knee on my second or third ride with them. It wasn’t anything hard, but you can’t be too careful with knees. They feel nice while riding, and are easy to take on and off. Will buy again when I need a new set.

  • Worth it!
Size: Large Color: Uranium Black
Lightweight and flexible enough to pedal... Breathable enough and worth the "sacrifice" for the added protection. These are thin and soft pads for trails and my clumsy self.

  • Snug fit - but they break in quickly
4 stars because I haven't actually crashed in them yet. I measured and ordered based on the size chart, and out of the box they were too tight. I was looking at returning them, but I couldn't get another pair here in time for my trip. After reading some other reviews, I decided to see how well they would break in. I wore them around the house for a couple hours, and then on a one-hour ride. They're still a little snug, but pretty close to what I was hoping for. I assume they will continue to break in with continued use. They are relatively light, not too sweaty, and I didn't find the material behind the knee too bunchy. The silicone grip inside is very grippy and rubs a little, but not any worse than the bottoms of liner shorts. The knee pad feels durable without being heavy or bulky, and I'm sure it will do its job in a crash. ... show more

  • 4.5 stars
Size: Small Color: Black
Was looking for something lightweight and these fit the bill. They are not as breathable as I had hoped, but it's hard to have good crash protection while also being breathable, so I get it. The padding is not super thick, but should be enough protection in all but heavy crashes. Once you have them on they are comfortable and conform to the shape of your leg really well. The material on the back does bunch up sometimes but it's only noticeable on long climbs, and I usually just slide them down around my ankles in that case. I wasn't totally sure on size, I have skinny legs and bought size smalls and they are snug, but the benefit of that it they do not move around at all on rough downhills. I think I could have gotten mediums and still had a decent fit, but they might not have stayed in place as well. I'd rather have them be a little tighter and not move, personally. I think these might be a little overpriced compared to some other similar options, but overall I'm happy with them. ... show more

  • Great Protection and Comfortable
Size: Medium Color: Black
I tried both the large and medium to get the proper fit. POC's site fitting guide suggested the large but it just didn't feel like it would stay on in the event of a fall, it was loose fitting so I kept the medium and send back the large. The quality of the materials is top notch and the POC logo is prominent. The padded material is 1/4 inch thick and fairly stiff at first before warming up on the knee, the protection extends to the side of knee protecting the medial and anterior meniscus a bit, which after two surgeries this year I wanted more protection at the inside of the knee. The VDP material hardens on impact and absorbs a large amount of energy according to POC. These are probably best suited for single track riding for a moderate fall of the bike, any protection is better than none. Doing crazy descents? I would opt for the thicker hard shelled models. I'm combining these with some G-Form Shin (similar tech) pad and they work together great. I have only a couple of short rides with them but they were comfortable and as with anything new it will take some getting used to. I was using McDavid Hex knee pads before these but they lack the impact protection of the POC's, although they are light enough to throw in the pack and if needed can go over the POC's to add some protection if the situation requires it. These would also be great for hunters or any activities that require you to kneel for short periods of time on those aging knees. ... show more

  • Well made, but poor design
Size: LRG Color: Epidote Green
I cannot imagine anyone having pedaled ANYTHING while wearing these pads actually selling them to someone they didn’t hate. Protection level is good, but comfort level is the worst I’ve used. Absolute worst. They are hot (uncomfortably so, even on a mild 70°F day), and only have grippy panels on the front inside the pad. So as soon as you bend your knee, the back slides down, bunching behind the knee and causing serious irritation. They started hurting just walking around getting ready to ride; after an hour on the unicycle the skin over the tendons on the backs of my knees was raw and quite painful. I did a second hour-long ride the following day, using some chamois cream on that area, but that didn’t help at all. According to the size guide, I need (and ordered) an XL. Way too loose. Returned for a large. That fits, and stays in place. It’s possible a medium wouldn’t cause the same issues, since it would be stretched tighter, but the Large barely stretches enough to get over my calves. Overall, very disappointed. I’ve used G-forms and Leatts in the past, neither were perfect, but both were better than these. Pads are supposed to prevent injuries, not cause them. These aren’t just uncomfortable, they actually hurt and cause serious skin irritation. Update: after cutting off the adjustment strap, these become much less irritating. They are now serviceable, but I certainly wouldn’t buy them again. It seems the bulk of the adjustment strap right where the knee flexes was causing the biggest problem. Second Update: after five moths of use (after cutting that adjustment strap off), they have held up well. In cooler weather, they're actually comfortable. ... show more

  • Fits just above knee
Size: Medium Color: Black
True to size. I'm 5'3", 120lbs. Athletic build with very skinny calves and thicker thighs. Medium fits perfectly. Pads are a little bulky compared to Gform, but I love that they don't go halfway up my thigh. Elastic sits just above kneecap. Contoured knee cups help keep them in place. No sliding. Comfortable for pedaly enduro rides. They fit fine under my riding pants and shorts, even with the big knee cup. ... show more
