It's a fun way to learn about connecting different circuits to achieve different effects. Some of the effects are pretty dull, but some are more fun, and it's easy to pick from the instructions which ones will give you the cooler effects. The keyboard is sadly not in tune with itself - that is to say, the C is not really a C, and is not a third away from the E, for example, but it's vaguely close. ... show more

The piano function uses an internal chip and the connections above the keys are to control that chip. Like any low cost piano, the tones are a little off. The LED circuits should include a series resistor. I'm concerned that without the current limiting resistor, you might damage the LEDs or quickly discharge the battery. ... show more

Fun concept, poor quality and needs better instruction booklet. After figuring out the instructions, my 11yr old son and I had fun completing three experiments...then the circuit board stopped working. Tried changing the batteries, but still didn't work. We will stick with "Snap Circuits" science kits in the future. ... show more
