I really wasn’t a fan of the silver on my stock rims but didn’t want to spend $400+ on new wheels. There was more than enough in this kit to do all 4 of my rims. I would say definitely take your time. I got a little over zealous towards the end. Ended up doing 4 coats as it started to build up a little too much (my fault). Didn’t want glossy but didn’t want matte either so I was able to get an almost perfect Satin with the glossifier. Used the plastidip on my front chin spolier and rear diffuser. Turned out great with 5 coats on each one and 30 mins in-between coats. I soaked the csn in hot water for 10 mins each time to smooth out atomization. Worked excellent!!! Was my first time using plasti dip and I must say it seems like good stuff! Time will tell how long it lasts. I glossified the chin spoiler but liked the look of the satin on my diffuser so no glossifier for it. It really seems versatile and really seems to adhere to clean surfaces quite easily! I used a thin initial coat then went thicker each time! Go out and buy this versatile product. ... show more

The spray width a bit narrow and thin coming off the nozzle. That makes it suitable for a mat finish. Getting to a glossy finish with the plastic dip is difficult to achieve due to narrow beam and thinly material coming from the can. The glossifier layer adds shine to top the mat finish. I ended up with a mixed areas of mat on the edges and smooth on the flat surfaces of the wheel covers. However, the covers still looking good at 3' away. ... show more

Use the black dip to paint my wheels and chrome on the car. Very easy to use and overspray peels right off. I’d recommend the following for first timers: -warm the cans in warm/hot water before spraying. Warm paint sprays better -a clip on spray nozzle helps a lot -light tack coat first -20 mins drying time between coats -minimum 5 coats (in my view) -ideal outdoor temp 55-70f - keep the can upright when spraying Overall very easy to use, and if you mess up just peel it off Update: 2 and 1/2 years later and the plasticote dip still looks good on my rims. Hasn’t deteriorated at all, although I’m very careful when cleaning them with a soft brush and wheel cleaner ... show more

I'm very impressed by how my rims ended looking. The whole job took me almost a whole day, mainly because I had to sand some spots on my rims, but the actual painting was very quick. Only used 3 coats of black plastidip, and 2 coats of clear to achieve the results pictured. Could have used more of each but ran out of time. Stuck right to the chrome without any issue. Can’t speak to longevity. But these are going on a car that won’t be driven much.
