  • A verdant delight for plant lovers
Format: Hardcover
This coffee table book about plants is an absolute treasure! Not only is it visually stunning with its vibrant photography and beautiful layouts, but it’s also packed with informative content that makes it a joy to read. Each page invites you into the lush world of plants, showcasing everything from common houseplants to exotic species. The descriptions are rich and engaging, offering fascinating facts and care tips that both novice and experienced plant enthusiasts will appreciate. What I love most is how it strikes the perfect balance between aesthetics and education. It's the kind of book you can leave out for guests to browse through, and it never fails to spark conversations about house plants and plant care. If you’re looking to deepen your appreciation for nature and bring a touch of greenery into your home decor, this book is a must-have. • Visually appealing plant encyclopedia for plant lovers
Format: Hardcover
I became obsessed with houseplants later in life as an adult. This book is one of many that I bought to learn about my new hobby. The pictures are high quality and the text is descriptive. Sure, I could just use Google and search plants online but there’s something nostalgic about having an encyclopedia at your fingertips. A detailed glossary has helped me learn the lingo. A visual index that can be used to identify plants you own, or decide which ones you want to buy next! And an easy to use index to find exactly what you’re looking for. Built in bookmarks. This book is the perfect addition to any plant lovers bookshelf! ... show more

  • What an awesome book! Very happy with the book and the price!
Format: Hardcover
I saw this book in Barnes and Noble and wanted to give it as a gift but it was 59.99 and I couldn't do it. I was so happy to find this on Amazon at a much better price, and ordered it immediately. It was a big hit as a gift for a plant loving person.

  • Pretty but not comprehensive
Format: Hardcover
I have a background in botany, and every so often go on a binge and get some more house plants, then look around for something to give me more information on how to care for them. This book got nice reviews so I ordered it. The good news: beautiful illustrations and good information on individual plant care. The bad news: not very comprehensive. It's about 400 pages, and maybe 360 are devoted to one plant per two pages -- so say 180 plants. When I started looking up individual plants, I didn't find most I was looking for. (Admittedly I was often looking for something less common than you expect at the average plant shop -- but nothing really rare.). So, it doesn't provide nearly the coverage I'd hoped for. Partly, perhaps because the authors are from Australia and focus on a somewhat different set of houseplants than one finds in the US. In any case, a beautiful book and probably helpful for a beginner, but not really the right book for someone more advanced wanting a really comprehensive coverage. ... show more
