Well, in spite of a few negative reviews I tried it. There are positives and negatives depending on how much the negatives bother you. This batting is very soft and it has a lovely feel to it and will quilt very nicely. It is lofty, light and it will feel great and look great in a quilt. However, be warned, it does adhere very quickly to other fabrics and your clothes as you handle it. The more you handle it the more it sheds. I have made the quilt sandwich as quilters would know, next step is actual quilting with the sewing machine. I’ve done a practice piece , so far so good. I’m not anticipating any problems. So far I love the feel and texture of this batting.

I use this to finish off a (curvy) 6 ft antique couch I reupholstered recently and it was exactly enough material. I am an amateur upholsterer but I found it pretty easy to work with and the results were good, really smooth and seamless. The only drawback I would say is also part of what makes it work so well- - it's very sticky and moldable material, so you can really sculpt it to the shape of your project. This also means that it sticks to your clothes and any other non-smooth surface it touches. Think cotton candy for insulation fluff. I ended up with little Tufts of it on my shirt afterwards from accidentally leaning on it and I made the mistake of setting a swatch down on some other upholstered furniture which ended up looking like it would decorated with Halloween cobwebs.

For a lightweight batting, this is nice, thick, luxurious cotton. Beautiful hand to it and sews like a dream. Much, much better quality than what I can get at a chain fabric store and for the same price.

The batting came in a nice packaging, soft and nice weight. Content was not listed so I had to go find that it was 100% cotton. So I gave it a try on this simple baby quilt. It layered and pinned well with the back and front of quilt, but as I started quilting there batting lint everywhere. It seemed to come apart as I quilted more so near the borders. I quilted very close with a variegated thread, so it should still hold up in the wash, but I will not purchase again. There is also a food smell when you iron the fabric over it. It is nicer than a cheap batting, but I will go back to my usuals.
