This is a awesome little case. True it may not be as sturdy as some other cases out there but in reality how many people need a hi end case for their guns? I know for me it suits my purpose perfectly. It allows me to take my guns to the range and back and fits under my bed. It has locks so it is California legal for transportation without a bunch of extra crap, fits in my car trunk perfectly and carries my two handguns 6 magazines, a shotgun with 50 rounds of 12 gauge, a reflex sight and a tactical flashlight. I have modified it with a custom foam I made and am loving it. So with the price of the case and the custom foam inserts I paid around only $95 in total. Beats the heck out of $200 plus for a pelican case alone.. Cons: Well I can't say too much bad about it despite the lid dose seam a wee bit floppy, as far as it being watertight... well I am not planning to go swimming with it, and haven't soaked it with a water hose .... l so I can't say how great it is on that aspect. Being a locksmith I was able to pick the locks on it in about 10 seconds.... so they are not that great for security, but it will keep the kids out as well as being safe to transport with the locks locked. "Side note" locks on a portable gun case can be better but for some reason even on high end cases their locking mechanism sucks... Unless you have a steel built safe that goes into your truck bed than don't expect anything fancy. This is actually a part all manufactures can work on. High and low end alike, their locks are about the same quality and can be made a lot better.

The case is significantly cheaper than a Pelican case with very little difference in quality. I haven't had any serious issues with this case at all. I've been able to fit an AR and two Handguns and several magazines with ease. The pick and pluck foam is easy to use although unforgiving (Measure thrice, cut once). The exterior is fairly sturdy and impact resistant. The lock is very convenient and I was able to use this case for transporting a firearm in an airplane because it uses locks, but also has the pressure release valve on the case which is also a very nice feature. Mine did not come with wheels although I have heard some have, so this version is the one without wheels. I do wish that the hinges were better and more sturdy, they are cheaply made, and the seal around the case has been an issue for multiple customers. While I had no serious issues with the seal, I can see it is cheap and haphazardly put in place causing potential issues. Overall its a great case for the price. Would definitely recommend and purchase again.

Received this case in almost perfect condition, the seal was jarred a small bit on the end, I repositioned it back in its groove and now all is well. Definitely worth the $100! I’m not one to go showing off my firearms, so I won’t post a picture, but I’ll tell you that what I bought this case for is certainly no cheap rifle, so I wanted something that was worthy of storing it in... now, while this case certainly is no “Pelican”, I don’t intend on throwing it around or dropping it (even though I think it would take a fall pretty graciously, but I’m not so sure about the latches) even if a latch, or even all of them were to fail, I have padlocks on my cases while in transport, so I have NO WORRIES about this case protecting what’s inside! If you want something decent but can’t bring yourself to spend hundreds of dollars for a case, this will do more than adequately I believe! The outer latches lock, which is neat, just don’t expect them to deter a thief or very curious child.... because they WONT! But for $100 I’m not so sure you can do much better! I’m pretty pleased that I decided on this case. I also have an “Eylar” which I would put up against a” Pelican “ any day of the week, but again, your going to spend more money. I don’t think those cases have to much more over this case, especially when considering cost!

I like everything about this 42" case with the exception of the slots for the optional tie-down straps. They are not wide enough for a standard 2" wide luggage strap. So, if you choose to use straps and the integrated case slots, they will only accommodate straps that are 1" wide. I wanted to use straps because I had to check the case as I was traveling by air. Also, the opening of the strap slots are too small and won't allow the strap buckle to pass through. There are slots on the front of the case and on the back of the case, which is fine as they are needed to secure the straps to the case. However, because the opening of the slots are so small you have to completely remove the male strap buckles from each strap, pass the straps through the slots, and then reattach the male buckles, which is kind of a pain. The female buckle is sewn in place and can't be removed. Also, once you have the straps and buckles in place and then want to open the case after unbuckling the straps, you will only be able to open it about 12" - 14" before the female buckles hit the slots, preventing the case from opening any more than that. The only way to fully open the case is to once again completely remove the female buckle. Fortunately, the airline desk agent didn't need me to fully open the case. She just needed to place a firearms declaration card inside the case which she was able to do with the case partially open. Also, the case has four heavy duty latches, two of which are keyed. It also has two holes to accommodate padlocks. If you are going to be traveling by air, I recommend using TSA approved padlocks only, and leave the keyed latches unlocked as I don't think TSA keys will open them. If you do lock the latches and a TSA agent wants to open the case after you have checked it, they will probably just bust open the whole thing to inspect the contents. I just returned from a trip and one of my two TSA padlocks was missing. I think they removed both of the locks, inspected the contents, and then reattached only one of the locks. Had I also locked the keyed latches, who knows what they would have done to get into the case. Glad I left those latches unlocked. Of course, one you reach your destination, feel free to lock the keyed latches. For the strap slot reasons stated above, I took off one star. Also, contrary to the description, the 42" case DOES NOT come with wheels. Wheels only come with the 52" case. If you aren't going to use straps, then this is a great case. It's sturdy and rugged. I was able to conform the pluck foam to hold a shotgun, a .22 rifle, and a pistol and magazine.

Pros, The foam is easily removed to form to your rifle or shotgun your putting into this case. Plenty of room for extra mags to be added as well and bipod storage with the 42" case. Solid construction, seems that it will hold up well, and the locks or a great feature. Well made for the price point, good carry handle as well. Cons, Foam comes out with the firearm when removing Replacement foam is a hit and miss when looking for the pull-apart style foam Kind of bulky when carrying, barely fits into my trunk Wish there was more lock on all 4 latches In all, it's a great case for what you pay, good construction. The only issue finding replacement foam when needed to replace for a different rifle configuration. I would also recommend some kind of rubber spray coating over the foam after configuring it to your rifle, the foam without it will pull out with your rifle and at times separate more causing huge gaps around your rifle inside when placed back in. Update: I recently bought name replacement foam from Cobra foam and it is far better than the pull foam that comes with this case. I just now wish that I got the 52" case instead of the 42" case for the rifle that went into the 42" case would have more room for other asssories.
