My husband is in love with this desk!!! He is a foreman for a HVAC company and uses it at his worksites. Now he doesn’t have to walk back and fourth to his car. Unfortunately, he uses a piece of plywood.. for now, until we can get our hands on something else. But it does the job !!

    • Constructed well, but the instructions were lacking and there is a flaw in the overall desgin

The material is weigted and supports well. However, the velcro along the top where the handle flap is folded over to make it a carrying piece, is not so great. If that Velcro fails, the entire piece opens up. It makes it a struggle to carry and making it transportable as a large case is not easy. You can fix this buy adding your own velro to the top of the case, you will be told that you just need to close it more carefully. They should sew a zipper on to that top piece to ensure it stays closed. To make it easier to open, I bought a large velcro strap and wrapped it around it so that it stays closed. I gave it four stars because I like the functionality of it and it works great in all other ways. If I have to add an additional strap to keep it closed it is no skin off my nose, but something they should look at for the next release. ... show more

    • Made It Lightweight With Corrugated Plastic And Foamboard!

Hi, this is Karen, the Mrs. We ordered under my husband's account but I'm using this desk. I have some arthritis so I was concerned about the weight of the desk once boards were inserted. I ordered it anyway. Upon a moment of inspiration, I went to our local home-improvement store and got 3 sheets of corrugated plastic board by the name of "Genesis Opal," model number 708-02, which measure 23.75" x 47.75". It is a somewhat bendy material. So I went straight to our local craft store and got rather large foamboard that I could cut down (used a coupon too). At home, I used an X-Acto knife to score the foamboard to the same dimensions as the corrugated plastic boards. I bent back and forth along each cut, then finished cutting with scissors. For the bottom, I sandwiched one foamboard between two corrugated plastic sheets (this provides some rigidity), rounded the corners with a pair of scissors, and inserted this type of board sandwich in both top and bottom. Again, I'm only using this for very lightweight purposes. Works like a charm! The corrugated plastic is guaranteed shatterproof for 10 years. The whole desk now weighs close to 11 pounds. Finally, I took a sharpie marker in copper and wrote "do not bend" in both sides of the outside. On the inside I wrote "do not bend" and "for lightweight use only." I was done in minutes. I got this because my bedroom is my office and leisure space and craft area all in one. The desk does NOT come with inserts, it is just the fabric part—I suspect a piece of foam posterboard would suffice for most people, but I happened upon a piece of plywood in the garage that fits and makes me feel extra secure. I like that I can flip this up and Velcro it shut, though I leave it down most of the time. Supports my laptop, a book or two, a second hard surface for my mouse, and a drink with coaster. The wires can be fed in from the side, so if I remove the drink I can close my laptop and slide it to the back, then Velcro it shut with the laptop still inside. I don’t think it would be very portable, in spite of the name, because you have to hang hooks to put it up on. The pockets up top are nice, especially since I can hang my phone from one to use as a webcam during Zoom calls. The rest have an assortment of crafting supplies and little things I forgot to give out at Christmas 😅 My family makes fun of it, but I was able to attend a webinar, cast some resin gifts, edit a video, and play a video game all on the same surface, so I think it’s doing very well! ... show more

Really do you like this. I have several of them and I have them at my various job site Sanher construction. It’s a great place to keep the drawings organized and stored safely and securely. It also provides in place to keep the documents necessary for the bills such as inspection cards And documents supporting observations and material purchases. And if you feel like you need to secure it, it’s easy to fold up take off the wall stored in your truck or hide it someplace in the job site. I've used these for a few years now and love them so much I finally bought one of my own. Really happy with it except one thing, the one I got is a inch and a quarter smaller than advertised. Which makes the surface wrinkle and I gotta move the nails closer in on the studs when hanging it. Maybe made on a Friday? Anyway, still works. ... show more
