I have the original foldback binder from the national brand, M**d F**e St**, and I don't like it because of the flimsy, poorly planned ring design. They open one ata time, so you need three or four hands to juggle it. Sadly, I was born with only two. I believe it was designed by someone who doesn't actually work old school, so it looked great in theory, but it's a whole other PITA entirely. It's difficult and awkward to move paper around, because the opening is at the back, instead of the front. Great idea, terrible execution. This binder is a far better design, and I like that the rings are not just glorified dollar store zip ties, and instead, open all at the same time, like traditional binders. It has all the best things of both worlds of a regular ring binder and "that other" brand but still uses metal rings. It's very comfortable to write with. I'm an old school writer, much like some of my authorial heroes, like Nelson deMille and JK Rowling. I am very much a methodical planner. So paper and pencil suits me just fine for 90 percent of my work. I only use a computer for polishing a final draft. I bought this binder for an upcoming trip, as I needed something that could fold back on itself, but still have the ability to move, and remove, and add pages. I'm using it in the chair, in the bed, pretty much EVERYWHERE. I really love it, and will need to order more. Getting rid of the clunky, overpriced fancypants brand. This outperforms it by a mile. I only wish it came in yellow, and in various capacities.

For mixed media journaling, this is a great idea. I love the bright purple color. You can add printed 3-hole pages on your own paper that you like, pivot the front so it lays flat for hand writing, stick-ons, or customize the front with your own cover inserted in the see-through plastic. To add paper, hold it by the center and open the rings. It is difficult to add paper lying open on the desk because the rings are offset toward the front, and most add-ons need to come from the back. All the extra paper and dividers should be packaged as optional accessories. I don't want them and they take up valuable space for other things. The binder I received has a poorly-closing ring, but I am keeping it because I need it now, and figure I'll fix it with heavy pliers or channel locks. It is much better than a telescoping binder, which I also tried, more versatile than a standard binder, prettier and less expensive than a tactical notebook.

Perfect for my purposes! I wanted it to be able to flip open quickly and lay completely flat, carry copies of paper forms, and be able to just rip out and throw any HIPPA in the shredder after I'm done with my notes. I do wish the back cover had a pocket, and I do wish the rings were more centered. It's kind of awkward to snap open when like 75% of the ring is on 1 side and 25% is on the other.

College students get this nowwwww!!!!!! WAAAAY better quality than the ugly flimsy five star one. The quality blew me away honestly. Very sturdy, but also very lightweight. Comes with really nice dividers and a few folders. The rings open at the same time. It lays very flat when you want to use it note book style for handwritten notes. I love it and I’m kicking myself for having dragged around a giant heavy binder all year instead of this 😅 also comes with a lot of notebook paper!! Some is already kindly inside the binder, and then the rest is neatly packaged in plastic. LOVE!!!!!!!!!

I wanted to really like this product. I bought 2. One for each of my son's. I love the idea of it and if it didn't constantly open and the papers fall it out it would be very useful. The rings don't stay close all the way. They open just enough have paper slip out. Don't know if it was a defected product but both items don't so maybe it's a defect in the design. I'm really sad because in essence this is a great product it's just these don't work properly.

I’d been looking for a 3-ring like this for a while and I’m so glad somebody actually makes these. It holds about 100 pages without stressing the rings and each page/divider folds back, making it very easy to use. I just wish they had these when I was in school!
