The good: Incredibly thin, light, and flattering case. The bad: Pitaka has added a logo to their case, an upsetting compromise to their style. The bottom line: if you want to step away from big bulky cases that dominate entire pockets, this one protects from small drops, scratches, and improves your phone handling experience. While these are my first impressions with this case, it is based on 4 years of experience with the brand using 2 other cases. What has stayed the same? The case feels amazing. Soft touch material makes the case feel special without the snag factor of rubbery cases or thickness of large cases. The texture is just enough to give me a solid grip on the phone. The cutouts on the side contributes to the confident reach of the buttons without an ounce of discomfort with their well thought out rounded edges. The case adds a negligible amount of weight and thickness, preserving the design of your device while adding a lot of confidence and reassurance in day to day use of the device. What’s changed? These cases now come with logos… a big mistake and disappointment from a stylistic perspective but one that makes sense especially when you consider upstarts are drawing heavy “inspiration” from Pitaka’a style and claiming to use similar materials. MagSafe is also here! A big win if you like these accessories. A disclaimer: while this case is made of Aramid, it doesn’t claim to beat the laws of physics. This case will not protect your phone from abuse or neglect. Update April 2022: The case has held up well the past few months. However, I have noticed a single detail that I already find mildly irritating. The corner by the camera bump creeps down (read; off) the phone once or twice a week. Simply pushing the phone against the case snaps it back into position. I suspect that there is an intentional drop in tension at that point in the case to make case removal possible without breaking it. If the case was too difficult to remove a number of users would probably be upset. I am not sure if that was an intentional design choice on the part of Pitaka. Perhaps I received a defective case. Either way, I would prefer a high tension case that would resist more deformation on impact simply to provide my phone more protection. If case creep gets to the point where I am having to adjust the case daily I will update again. Otherwise, this is still the premium slim case choice. If you’re looking for a case that will take care of your phone while making your phone easier to use this is your best bet. ... show more

I enjoy the Pitaka MagEZ cases because they are minimalistic AND useful which is normally a difficult task to accomplish. I am pleased with how the Aramid Fiber feels in my hands, how the case looks, and how the case doesn’t add unnecessary bulk and weight to the phone. The magnets in the case are STRONG (I feel like they’re stronger than the MagSafe system on the phone). The case protects against small scratches and scuffs. Now, the reason why I can’t give this case a full 5 stars is because of the MagEZ system. The 13 series case took away the metal plates to accommodate for the MagSafe magnets this year (which was missed for the 12 series). This means that the MagEZ 2.0 system is not compatible with the MagEZ 1.0 accessories. If you have/use the Pitaka car mount (which most people would), you would have to get the new car mount that supports the MagEZ 2.0 system. I know that Pitaka could have both the metal plates and the MagSafe magnets in a hybrid/slim body case because the MagEZ Pro 2 case for the iPhone 12 has them. So I don’t understand that decision to go with JUST MagSafe magnets and not both…. Other than that, this is a great case and I would still recommend it to anyone that doesn’t need full body protection and just wants a minimal and elegant look. ... show more

I’ve been a Pitaka fan since their Mag E-Z line (their proprietary version of MagSafe), both because they combined wireless charging and magnetic attachment in one AND because I am a shameless lover of all things draped in woven composite. They’ve truly outdone themselves with this 13 Pro case. Fits tighter than one would even expect from OEM. Most impressively so around the camera protector I got (one of those clear plastic square-shaped jobbies that adheres like a screen protector over all three lenses)… it is flush with the case’s bezel to within a few MICRONS and if you could slide a piece of paper between the case and the cam protector on any of the four sides I would be very surprised. Front side is similarly impressive; the case wraps up around the sides of the phone just enough so that a generic screen protector leaves very little gap between itself and the case, even all the way around the perimeter. Absolutely the best marriage I’ve ever had between case, phone, and protection. If you put an Apple logo on this stuff and the phone came with it attached like this straight out of Cupertino, absolutely NOBODY would be surprised. One final thought… if you’re considering getting the “air” model vs this magsafe compatible one - I recommend against it. Can’t imagine getting a product any thinner or lighter than this, and you’ll not really notice the added thickness because of how the camera sticks out anyways. ... show more

Pros: 1. These are super thin and I love that. One of the few cases out there that gives you the best feel as you have the phone as thin as phone should be without any cases. Cons: 1. The sides on the screen stick out too much - i think almost like 2 mm. That can irritate a lot. I even put the glass protector to make the sticking out a little less. But it is still too much. 2. The corners can easily chip just on day to day use… I expected a bit more durability from a 50$ case. It should have chipped corners only after one week of use… Overall 4 out of 5. And the reason not 3 is because it is hard to find a similar case that is that thin… ... show more
