We used these for a Leprechaun trap, and they served well. They could also be more nautical, doubloony, serve in a pinch as ancient Roman-type currency, whatever sort of thing along those lines. They're not hefty or particularly high quality metal coins, but they are metal and they're not so thin they bend or break trivially. So pretty good options for pimping out board games, role playing, tossing to children, whatever.

These might be fun for a little kid, but they're not very impressive due to their small size. They're only about the size of a nickel. While they're made of metal, it's a lightweight metal and the coins are only about half the thickness of a nickel, so they're very insubstantial. The product description is accurate that the coins are 7/8" diameter, but the product photos are not accurate. The children holding coins, and the coins at the poker table are all Photoshopped in and considerably larger than the actual coins received. I have other fake doubloons that are much bigger, the size of a 50 cent piece, and much more substantial. (See pics) The other ones actually have a "pirate-y" feel to them. These are like if pirates used pennies instead of doubloons.

These were way heavier than I thought they'd be, which made them feel way cooler—like actual pirate loot 😎 Used them for a St. Paddy’s Day scavenger hunt and the kids were OBSESSED. They held up to some rough play too (and at one point, a toddler tried to eat one... don't worry, we stopped her). Would totally buy again for game night props or just to keep in a treasure chest for fun. Arrrr matey, solid score ⚓

These metal pirate coins are a fun and solid little treasure! The set of 21 has a nice weight and shine to them, making them perfect for dress-up, board games, or even treasure hunts. They look great in a prop chest or as part of a themed party setup. While they’re designed for kids, even adults will appreciate the nostalgic charm.

I had to take a star off for how the pictures make them look much bigger than they are. You have to dig to the bottom of the details to find they are actually 7/8" diameter, 0.11 oz each. The pictures make them look like they are 2-3" in diameter. Nope. Otherwise, they are as you would imagine. I don't think anyone would use them for St Patrick's Day or Mardi Gras like the listing says. I'll find a good pirate themed board game to keep them with.

These are good coins to use in board game, but they're pretty small for other purposes. The pictures in the product listing are a bit misleading. Each coin is about the size of a nickel, not a poker chip as the images imply. To be fair the product listing says they are 7/8" but if you just look at the images you'll think they were bigger. That's photoshop for you though... They are also advertised as gold plated (both on the listing and the packaging), but they're definitely not plated with real gold. They're shiny enough though and great for kids (old enough to know not to swallow them) and wonderful for board games (I think I might use them to replace the coins in Roam).

Got these for my son to find on St. Patrick's Day as we always try to catch a leprechaun. He was super happy to find them and thought they were real gold. That these are actually metal and have decent weight to them is very convincing. Would also be great for playing with metal detectors.
