I saw a couple poor reviews of this tape. It's almost like they're reviewing the wrong product by mistake or something. One review said the tape came in two pieces and wasn't enough to cover 2 full paddles. Well that's not true when I received mine. I've bought this tape a few times (and in two different widths) and it has always come in one long piece that has plenty for two paddles. Could even cover 3-4 paddles if you only go from 10am-2pm on each paddle... which is really all you need anyway. Who scrapes the bottom corners of a paddle? Another review said this tape was too thin. That's just not accurate. It's plenty thick and way thicker than electrical tape. If it were any thicker, it would be too thick and start to add too much bulk & weight. And it does fine to protect against accidental scrapes and scratches. WAAAAAY better than electrical tape, which is junk to use as edge guard tape. That stuff shreds so easy. Don't use that stuff unless that's all you have on hand. Another review said this tape wasn't wide enough to cover the entire width of their 16mm paddle. It sounds like they bought the wrong width tape for their paddle. Because if you buy the proper width, it will cover the entire width of the16mm edge guard on your paddle, as shown in the photo. Just make sure you buy the correct width tape, and the description tells you which width you should buy based on your paddle thickness... so just read the description kids. The attached photos show the thickness of the Pickleball Effect edge guard vs electrical tape. The Pickleball Effect edge guard tape is much thicker, much more durable, much better. This is a good edge guard at a pretty good price too. But make sure you read the description and buy the proper width for your paddle (wide, standard, or narrow).

I always wear out my paddles in the same spot (10 and 2 in driving terminology) so I try to delay the inevitable my adding a layer of protection. This tape is easy to apply, fit my 16mm-thick paddle perfectly and has lasted longer than anything else I've used

Using this tape on my Selkirk Luxx Control Air Invikta - standard width is a perfect fit and I'm very happy with the protection it provides. You get enough tape to do a complete surround on at least two paddles - I applied it in three sections so that I can reapply the top as that gets the most wear. It works great and is a bargain for the protection it provides. Sticks very well - no adhesion issues. Highly recommended!

I’ve played about 30 games on it so far and it seems to be holding up well. It’s not super thick like the prolite stuff I’ve used before but I actually like that. The prolite stuff is heavy and I’m sensitive to the weight of my paddle. I’m not rough on my paddle so it does the job for me and and I like that it’s lighter. I’ve also used electrical tape before and this is thicker and stronger than that which is what I wanted. I have a 16mm paddle and it covers the top all the way to the edge but doesn’t go over the side. I didn’t mind that but thought it would go over the sides. All my marks on the tape so far have been on the top part of the paddle other than one decent ding that was on side/edge. That white mark you see was from clashing paddles so I’m glad I had it on. If you have a paddle thinner than 16mm then it would go over the sides of the edge guard. I like the stuff and will probably buy it again and get a different color though the black leather look is really sleek. It is nice that there is no branding or anything on it, I like that about it. It looks really good on. I hope they make a wider version in the future, though.
