  • ... Sport Compression Running Socks for Men & Women - Best Athletic Low Cut Socks with No Show Ankle Design ...
I own these socks (Physix Gear Sport Compression Running Socks for Men & Women - Best Athletic Low Cut Socks with No Show Ankle Design - Premium Quality Stitching) in Size: S/M (US Women 5.5-8.5 / US Men 5-9) and I also own Physix Gear Plantar Fasciitis Socks with Arch Support for Men & Women - Best 24/7 Compression Foot Sleeve for Aching Feet & Heel Pain Relief - Washes Well, Holds Shape & Better Than a Night Splint in Size: S/M (Women 4-7.5 / Men 6.0-8.0). I am 5'6", weigh 185 pounds, wear Newton Running stability running shoes size 8 1/2. I got back into running to loose weight. As the frequency and distance I run increased (I average 8 miles/7 days week), the combination of shoes and socks I used stopped working. I tried a variety of combinations of shoes and socks both brands and types within brand (Adidas, Nike, Thorlos, Wright Socks, PROtreads, Terramar, Fox River Socks, ...). I also tried a variety of compression socks from a variety of companies. For graduated compression on my legs, I use compression tights from Adidas, 2XU, or Nike Pro and find that works better for me. Since I bought these, I love my running shoes (Newton Running Motion 6, Newton Running Kismet 3) again. I can't run using just these socks however. I use them as compression below running socks with better cushioning (my favorites being Adidas Climalite (assorted fabric combinations) with arch support (more of a concept than a reality) and cushioned foot bed; and PROtreads Expeilits). I tried running with compression sleeves (Physix Gear Sport and other brands) and found that they offered too much compression and shifted around on runs. They took too long to put on under running socks (it could take 10 minutes to get the sleeve to lay flat and align under a running sock). All of sleeves I tried (about a dozen including Physix Gear Sport) all offered either too much or too little compression. These socks on the other hand offer the right amount of compression and are simple to put on. I really like Physix Gear Sport and the products that they make. They simple make superior products and have incredible customer support. They follow up purchases, and want to ensure their utter satisfaction. They are very interested in customer loyalty, after my first purchase they sent a 10% off coupon and after my last 2 purchases sent 15% off coupon which I will be using to purchase additional pairs of these socks. I replace my running shoes (I alternate shoes each running day) every 4 months and suspect that I will need to replace these socks every 6 months which at $5/pair is more than reasonable. I use the following Physix Gear Sport products: 1. Physix Gear Sport Compression Running Socks for Men & Women - I use them on daily runs and no other time 2. Physix Gear Plantar Fasciitis Socks with Arch Support for Men & Women - Best 24/7 Compression Foot Sleeve for Aching Feet & Heel Pain Relief - Washes Well, Holds Shape & Better Than a Night Splint - I use these only as part of Recovery when I increase distance I ran on a particular day and no other time I wish they made a version of this sock for Vibram 5 finger running shoes. The compression sleeves don't work any better under socks made for running in Vibram 5 finger running shoes. ... show more

  • Nice Socks
Size: Small-Medium Color: Black/Blue
I have had a couple of pair of Physix Gear "long" compression socks and liked them a great deal. I went online to buy another pair and noticed they had low cut compression socks so I decided to try them. They work great. Very comfortable - once you get them on. Since they are compression, they obviously fit very tight and I have to struggle to get them over my heel (just like the "long" compression socks I have). But once you get them on (and it gets easier and faster after a few times) there is a little extra room in the toes. This keeps my toes from being compressed together and gives them freedom. I think that is what makes these so comfortable. Once they are on, you really don't know they are there. My feet, ankles and lower legs frequently swell. The long socks do a great job keeping everything from swelling. These low cut socks do the same thing for my feet. No swelling! There is still a little swelling above the ankles but, it doesn't seem to be as much as if I didn't have them on at all. ... show more

  • helps reduce or eliminate swelling, nice energy return
Size: Large-X-Large Color: Black/Pink
I get swollen ankles from venous insufficiency . I use compression socks or sleeves nearly every day. I wear any of them: full socks, toeless socks, ankle sleeves, crew socks. But I had yet to try low cut socks. Seemed kind of suspect given that the swelling is usually at the ankles. But I circled back to these because I am curious, and I like sharing my thoughts in reviews. In short: they work, and work really well. The material goes up the ankle a bit, so in that sense they are longer than I prefer for a low cut sock, BUT I feel like I am more "free" compared to wearing a full sock. They really do look like how they are shown in pictures. They are thoughtful in design. Easy on, easy off. Soe extra interior threads where color changes. Not significant. No toe nail snagging. I have size 10/10.5 womens feet. Usually I buy size 11 as I also have wide feet and the little added length accommodate my feet well. So I chose sizing based on that. SO, size 11 in womens is size 9 in mens. Yet they list the size nine in mens as size S/M, but also is indicated in the range for L/XL. Yet for women size they give up to 8.5 (which is 10.5 in mens) for S/M and starts at 8 (size 10 mens) for L/XL. On my feet these fit with room to spare. If need extra compression and you are on the cusp of either size, then go smaller. I just ordered a couple more pairs, and went with the size I originally went with since I noticed that my ankle swelling was down well enough to not want to go smaller. But I likely could. Maybe I will order a smaller size just to see how they fit. As with ANY compression garment, do no wash in hot water or dry in dryer if you want to maintain the compression level. Heat destroys elasticity, therefore decreasing the effectiveness. ... show more

  • The do it all sock
Size: Small-Medium Color: Black/Green
I love the quality of these support socks so detailed with a lot of thought. I was hesitant to spend nearly ten bucks for a pair of socks but to my surprise there were two, I totally misread it and so happy I ordered all of the bright colors. I love the comfort and the texture doesn't feel hot like a sweat sock but warm and snuggled. Really feels like they are toning my feet. And they are made with added support for the ankle, the material comes up around the ankles more in the back not the front to allow for comfort when wearing sneakers or shoes of your choice. They also keep the swelling down and not just in my feet but my ankles and calf too and they are super cute. So happy with my bright colors I went back the day after wearing them and ordered all the neutral colors too. You must buy them, start with one and I promise you will buy them all. I submitted photos to get a feel for what I am trying to convey. I am an 8.5 and the s/m worked fine for me however snug so if your feet size is larger than a nine, I would invest in a bigger size. I actually took the time to give this review the time it deserves WITH photos that is saying a lot for me now put them in your cart and forget about it. ... show more
