The pillow cases had a little extra room after stuffing them with standard sized pillows so they could be king sized. After fluffing them a bit you can’t tell that there’s room to spare. Very cute! Good quality. The king size also comes with king size pillow cases and they are massive just a heads up for anyone else. Although if you need a king size duvet cover but full size pillow cases you’re kind of burnt because they don’t give you that option.

I really like this duvet cover set overall. The material is incredibly soft, comfortable, and gives the bed a cozy, luxurious feel. It has held up well and looks beautiful once it’s on the bed. My only disappointment was the color. I ordered the Emerald Green expecting a darker forest green, but the actual color is much brighter and more vibrant than the listing suggested. If you’re specifically looking for a deep forest green, you may be disappointed. That said, the quality and softness are excellent, and the color is still pretty even though it wasn’t what I expected. Overall, I’m happy with the purchase and would recommend it, just be aware that the color may look different in person than it does online. ... show more

I think I saw some mixed reviews for this so I want to clear things up for people. This is a duvet cover, it does not come with the duvet. I have used it as a cover for what I use as a duvet which is a big wool blanket that is very ugly but very warm. The biggest problem with all duvet colors is getting the blanket inside to stay put on the edges, this has ties in ALL the corners as well as the mid points between each corner so 8 total I believe and it’s doing a great jobs at stopping the blanket from sliding around in the cover too much. The blanket just had a new sheet smell when I opened it. After washing it there was no smell problem at all. There was a slight smell of college dorm room sheet if that helps anyone because the bottom part that isn’t the velvet is definitely a cheaper fabric that you find when you get cheap sheets in college. That doesn’t bother me though because the velvet looks beautiful and I lay under my nicer sheets so I don’t ever feel that layer. That being said it is soft you can just tell it’s a little cheap. The color is sort of a like dark mauve pink, girly but elegant, feels really nice to run your fingers across. Because velvet has a little bit of weight it actually has felt really nice, not quite a weighted blanket but I can tell there’s more on top of me than the blanket I originally had. If you’ve been looking for a believer duvet cover but don’t want to spend over $100 on like west elm. This is definitely the one. ... show more

I’m a bit torn on this duvet. Unfortunately mine arrived with what appears to be an iron burn, but I’m assuming its a 1 off fluke & not on all duvet covers, putting that mistake aside here are my thoughts ... The good: - great color - looks luxurious & expensive - very soft & cozy - 8 inside ties to keep duvet in place The Bad: - 100% polyester, doesn’t breathe - creates an insane amount of static electricity - slips off the bed easily due to material **update** I’ve been using this duvet for a few weeks now & it’s very cozy but does not breathe at all. I ended up having to turn my heat off at night just to sleep with it. (and I live in VT where anything above 30 is considered warm) so on those extra cold nights its a great blanket but when I tried to sleep with my room being warmer, even an average room temp, I found I would wake up sweating at least once a night. I’ll keep this for the January-March months but definitely a bummer I can’t use it year round. ... show more

My room isn’t fully set up yet because I just moved, but I am SHOOKETH. This might be the BEST Amazon find I’ve found thus far. Full disclosure, I’ve only had it a couple days & I haven’t washed it multiple times or anything yet, so I have no idea how well the black velvet will maintain it’s color or softness. So there’s that. From other reviews, it seems washing it makes no difference. Regardless, I’m absolutely obsessed so far. My room is one step closer to becoming my goth queen dream. But it doesn’t stop at how amazing it looks….oh no. It is so stinkin’ soft, on both sides. One side is a buttery smooth, dark black crushed velvet & the other side is a (slightly) less dark microfiber type fabric. It pairs very nicely with the velvet, because it’s very soft but not as thick or hot feeling. Side note: The bad reviews with people angrily saying it is a scam because it’s too thin for a comforter, and that it’s false advertisement, made me chuckle. Critical thinking skills and reading context clues should truly be taught in school from a young age.…..yikes. With that said, I had to buy a duvet insert because I was not sure how I could (easily) have a regular comforter stay in place. So, all together, it ran me about $95. To me, that seemed like a lot for just a comforter and 2 pillow cases, so I was starting to have buyers remorse….especially with how difficult it was to situate (faulty duvet insert)…until I snuggled up for bedtime and then it all made sense. Even though I have a queen size bed, I went ahead & got the king size, because I’m a bit hedonistic, and it’s like swimming in an ocean of velvet everytime I get in my bed. Life changing. The ONLY downside that I encountered is the pillow cases being huge and considerably larger than my king size pillows, so I have to do that whole fold over/tuck thingy when I make the bed. And since the pillow cases are so big & do not zip up, the flaps on the inside (to keep the pillow from coming out) are irrelevant. Not a downside but, I found the buttons for the duvet cover to be kinda tricky to figure out at first, but it’s definitely worth doing it that specific way because it makes the bottom seamless. The ONLY thing they should consider changing is to add a zipper for both the duvet and pillowcases. It makes the taking off/putting on process A LOT easier and keeps all the contents A LOT more secure. But that’s not a deal breaker for me, and I would superglue this sucker together if I had to because it’s amazing. ... show more
