My room isn’t fully set up yet because I just moved, but I am SHOOKETH. This might be the BEST Amazon find I’ve found thus far. Full disclosure, I’ve only had it a couple days & I haven’t washed it multiple times or anything yet, so I have no idea how well the black velvet will maintain it’s color or softness. So there’s that. From other reviews, it seems washing it makes no difference. Regardless, I’m absolutely obsessed so far. My room is one step closer to becoming my goth queen dream. But it doesn’t stop at how amazing it looks….oh no. It is so stinkin’ soft, on both sides. One side is a buttery smooth, dark black crushed velvet & the other side is a (slightly) less dark microfiber type fabric. It pairs very nicely with the velvet, because it’s very soft but not as thick or hot feeling. Side note: The bad reviews with people angrily saying it is a scam because it’s too thin for a comforter, and that it’s false advertisement, made me chuckle. Critical thinking skills and reading context clues should truly be taught in school from a young age.…..yikes. With that said, I had to buy a duvet insert because I was not sure how I could (easily) have a regular comforter stay in place. So, all together, it ran me about $95. To me, that seemed like a lot for just a comforter and 2 pillow cases, so I was starting to have buyers remorse….especially with how difficult it was to situate (faulty duvet insert)…until I snuggled up for bedtime and then it all made sense. Even though I have a queen size bed, I went ahead & got the king size, because I’m a bit hedonistic, and it’s like swimming in an ocean of velvet everytime I get in my bed. Life changing. The ONLY downside that I encountered is the pillow cases being huge and considerably larger than my king size pillows, so I have to do that whole fold over/tuck thingy when I make the bed. And since the pillow cases are so big & do not zip up, the flaps on the inside (to keep the pillow from coming out) are irrelevant. Not a downside but, I found the buttons for the duvet cover to be kinda tricky to figure out at first, but it’s definitely worth doing it that specific way because it makes the bottom seamless. The ONLY thing they should consider changing is to add a zipper for both the duvet and pillowcases. It makes the taking off/putting on process A LOT easier and keeps all the contents A LOT more secure. But that’s not a deal breaker for me, and I would superglue this sucker together if I had to because it’s amazing. ... show more

This duvet is a winner for me. It's very pretty, soft, and cozy. I gave it 4 stars because it seems a bit larger than a king-size. I have a king-size duvet insert and it still had a lot of room left in the duvet, which causes it to bunch up. I have to do a lot of shaking it here and there to get it to even out. Other than that, it's a hit. My room looks very nice with this set. I also want to address some of the comments, saying it's too thin and doesn't seem like a comforter. Please note, that this is a duvet, not a comforter. You have to buy a duvet insert to put inside. It's kind of like an oversized pillowcase for the bed. If you don't have a duvet insert, you can simply insert a comforter you already have into it. I've done that before and it was fine. Hopes this help. ... show more

The duvet is amazing and so soft!!! If you want a beautiful bold color get it in red wine! For washing I did cold water and on a delicate cycle washed alone. For drying I checked it multiple times and used a low to medium heat throughout the cycle. The fabric came out fine. It is wonderfully soft you feel like you are sleeping on a cloud ... show more

It doesn't fit my duvet well at all despite being the right size. It moves around and bunches up. I don't like that it's a button up one instead of a zipper. Other than that, it's cute and soft. The color is vibrant and it's easy to clean. I just can't really use it because of the size.

Not only is this duvet cover beautiful, it is warm and so comfortable!! I live in the cold and I haven’t woken up chilled ones while using this cover. It adds an extra weight to it and I absolutely love it! Well worth the price!
