This blending is really where the fragrance shines, since it avoids the common pitfall of florals sitting awkwardly on top of a woody base rather than integrating with it. As it dries down, the woods combine with leather and a soft musk to create something warm and inviting that smells genuinely natural rather than synthetic or heavy handed. While this is marketed toward men, I believe it is wearable by absolutely anyone, and it sits solidly in unisex territory in the way it develops on skin. Performance is a strong point here. This has a high oil concentration, which left a nice, subtle sheen on my skin after application and translated into solid longevity and steady, close wear throughout the day. I am really liking the recent PureU fragrances. This men's cologne is no exception. The presentation is classy, the bottle is heavy, with a bold, fine mist sprayer. The bottle is a convenient size, and the box is gift worthy as well. The scent itself is definitely masculine. I get the woods, with Ambrox and florals in the background. The florals in this scent are definitely back up players, and a bit unusual. The Violet and Iris are very clean smelling, with a hint of powder. The scent is well blended and easy to wear. It lasts at least 6 hours, and is still detectable after 8. The scent is average for how far it travels, I would consider it work appropriate. I also like that this company sells perfumes and colognes which are naturally derived and cruelty free, as well as that they contain Pheromones. I am not exactly sure what the Pheromones accomplish, but I thoroughly enjoy wearing and smelling almost everything from PureU. I think this cologne is a good value for money and recommend it.

I have a few other PureU fragrances, so I was excited to try the full size Santal Luxe Long Lasting Pheromone Perfume for Men. Santal Luxe comes in a lovely burnt orange colored box that looks and even almost feels like it is covered in shimmering satin. The lid opens from the bottom toward the top and has a magnetic closure. Inside the bottle is simply presented in a cut out from a block of black foam with a velvet finish. It looks and feels very sophisticated and could make a nice gift. The fragrance itself starts out sharp and almost overwhelming. It is spicy and smoky. It eventually settles into a more subdued sandalwood with some hints of leather. Despite the initial sharpness, when used in moderation, the projection is moderate. However, I think it could be easy to overdo this scent if you are dousing yourself and walking out the door. The longevity is pretty good. The initial strength dissipates fairly quickly and settles into a tamer version of itself for a few hours. It slowly dissipates during that time and eventually becomes a gentle skin scent for a few more hours. This is a masculine scent, especially initially. It feels like an evening scent until it calms down, then it could be worn any time of day. It’s just getting past that first burst of fragrance before it would be comfortable during the day. And that first burst of fragrance is what makes it not safe for the office. Certainly, refreshing with a spritz or two at work would send fragrance sensitive coworkers running to HR. It is warm and spicy, perfect for fall and even into the winter months. I adore this scent, even that first strong burst of smoke and spice. I am giving it 5 stars. The price is excellent for the intensity and size of the bottle, so it is a great value for the price.

This is a really solid fragrance with a well-balanced unisex scent profile that I can easily see working for either men or women. It opens with violet and cardamom before moving into iris, papyrus, and ambrox, with sandalwood, cedarwood, leather, and musk providing a smooth woody base. I especially like the way the different notes work together rather than having one completely overpower everything else. It has enough freshness and character for warmer weather while the woods, leather, and musk give it enough depth for cooler months, making it surprisingly versatile and something I could comfortably wear throughout all four seasons. The projection is strong when first applied, and the overall longevity is good. After roughly 1–2 hours, I find that the projection settles down considerably and it wears closer to the skin, but the fragrance itself remains noticeable for much longer. That’s actually a nice balance for situations where I want a stronger opening without projecting heavily around everyone for the entire day. At 50ml, you’re also getting a good amount of fragrance for the cost, especially considering the quality and performance. Between the appealing scent, year-round versatility, unisex character, and respectable longevity, this is a solid fragrance overall and a very good value for the money.

It's nice to see PUREU with a masculine cologne. Santal Luxe has a spicy woody scent that smells very nice. The cologne wears close to the body, meaning little sillage. Also, being a cologne, the longevity is short. This fragrance wears well in cooler weather so summer is it's weakest time. Not overpowering, it's safe for office wear. It's also a very nice night out and bedtime scent. Intimate and cozy. Overpriced for a cologne but I guess the pheromone addition adds to the cost.

This cologne smells good and has good longevity! It comes beautifully packaged in a golden ombré bottle design in 1.7 oz. The projection is good with a subtle lingering clean scent. In my opinion, the fragrance leans more unisex and would be good for the ladies as well. The scent has a soft sweet undertone to my nose making it a nice option for men or women. It isn’t completely masculine and pairs well with the pureu matching perfume oil. At first, I thought the projection was too close to the skin and wouldn’t turn any heads or receive compliments. But after letting the scent fully settle and dry down, it smells beautiful with just a small amount sprayed on the back of my hand and wrists! It leaves an oily residue behind at first on the skin that takes a little longer to dry down. Once it fully absorbed, this scent paired so well with my body chemistry! The scent is a sweet woodsy scent with good projection and longevity. Me and my husband both tried it out and it smells great on both of us. I love it! It doesn’t even take that much for a good scent payoff as well! This is definitely a quality scent in a unisex fragrance! Highly recommend!

As a longtime fan of Pureu perfumes, I was eager to try their release of Santal Luxe and I definitely enjoyed it! I am a big fan of the luxury "The Labs" brand, and have owned several bottles of the original Santal. It is definitely a unique fragrance that is hard to master. Many try to imitate it, but it's hard to capture that exact scent in a bottle. Although this cologne does a great job at capturing the essence of the scent, it is definitely an inspired-by fragrance. So don't expect an exact replica of "The Labs" version of the cologne. However, it's a great version at about 1/10th the cost of "The Labs" version, so you definitely get a lot of value out of it. In my opinion, this is a great value for the money, especially for someone who loves cologne or perfume without spending a ton of money foolishly. Overall, 10 out of 20 stars!
