  • Great performance, but loud.
Color: Black Style: 280MP
This cooler delivers the second best performance I've ever personally seen from a 280mm AIO -- second only to the Arctic Liquid Freezer II. That AIO, however, has a very thick radiator with large fittings sticking both out of the radiator itself and the pump block, which heavily limits case compatibility. In my experience it tops the similarly-sized EVGA CLC 280, Corsair H115i, and CoolerMaster ML280. Performance aside, easily the single most interesting part of this cooler is the removable pump dampener. It has what I'd consider to be a very appealing design, with a neat scrolling hall-of-mirrors effect by default, and it has the Phanteks logo printed in both orientations so that the pump can be mounted in either direction without looking upside-down. It does genuinely do quite a bit to dampen the pump noise, but it restricts the degree to which the tubes coming from the pump can rotate, so don't expect to be able to turn them completely flat with the dampener installed. You should also not place/remove the pump cover while the pump is running. I didn't see mention of this in the manual, but you can very much hear the pump being affected by the magnets in the cover while attaching/detaching it, before it fully settles into place. There are no electrical connections to make this risky at all, but for the sake of pump longevity, I'd turn the machine off before removing or re-attaching it. As a bonus, the only connections you'll need to make from the pump itself are the PWM pump fan header, and the RGB connection from the pump cover, if you want to use it. No external power or fiddly software required. The only real downside of this AIO is that, out of the box, it is acoustically very poorly controlled. The pump produces a very loud, high-pitched whine that can be heard at a distance even through the included noise dampening cover if you have vents in your side panels. I've never heard such a loud pump whine from an AIO before, but I've worked with two of these units and both do it. It does seem to dissipate fairly quickly if you PWM control the pump, and I find that I'm comfortable with the noise at around 85% PWM control (~2,200 RPM out of the max ~2,600 RPM). The high-pitched noise dissipates entirely around 80% PWM control. The fans that come with the 280mm version are also incredibly loud -- they top out at ~40db and hit ~2,000RPM at max fan speed. Their static pressure is fairly high (3.59mm H2O!), and they don't have a high-pitched whine like a lot of other stock AIO fans do, but 40db is pretty darn loud. For reference, Noctua's industrial fans, which they consider to be unfit for consumer PCs owing to their loud operating volume, top out at ~32db while generating significantly higher pressure and more airflow. The 240mm/360mm variants of this cooler come with 120mm fans that top out at about 34db, which is much quieter, but still a bit louder than is really comfortable for a PC sitting on a desk next to you. You'll want to PWM control the fans down to a level you're comfortable with, much like the pump, and Phantek's fans do generally behave quite well at lower speeds. In a nutshell, this is actually a pretty good cooler, especially for a first attempt - the changes they've made to the typical Asetek design are solid, and I really like that it's a software-free option. But its noise profile is extremely obnoxious out of the box, and you should expect to need to take some time to tinker with fan profiles for both the pump and the fans themselves. ... show more

  • Absolutely mindblowing...
Color: Black Style: 240MP
I was skeptical at first since Phanteks is new to the AIO field. This cooler is absolutely amazing. I was a die hard EKWB user with an EKWB AIO - but it died and their RMA process is slow as molasses. Instead of waiting 3 years for a replacement I went with this. And good god almighty I'm happy I did. My temps were significantly cooler than with any previous AIO. For Reference: - NCase M1 - MSI Z490I - UNIFY - Core i9-10900k - Nvidia RTX 3080 Founders - Noctua 120mm fans 2 Fans intaking under gpu - two fans exhausting out of radiator and 1 hour of gaming I didn't see my CPU go above 64 package. Cinebench I was hovering around 70-74 all cores running at 4.9-5.0. Oh and finally .. It's literally the only AIO I've ever used that can fit in every single direction over the CPU socket - its that small. This cooler has officially become #1 in my book!! ... show more

  • Great AIO but Needs ARGB Halos
Color: Black Style: 360MP
Most people don't know this AIO is the latest 7th gen from Asetek, and comes with SIX year warranty, with pretty high stock static pressure at 3.6 mm-H2O (compare to only 2.6-ish from others). I know this isn't as high performing compare to the Arctic Liquid Freezer II 360, but the Arctic ones only come with a two year warranty. I will take a more proven platform instead. Pair this with a Phanteks case, like an Evolv X for example, and add some more of their 120mm Halos ARGB, then you will get a cool case, both in looks and performance. Highly recommended. ... show more

  • overkill for my needs
Color: Black Style: 360MP
Great quality, but I agree that the CPU mount cover has weak magnets so I left it off entirely. it looks just fine without it too. Size is way overkill for my needs but It cools like a champ so I can see it going very far for high stress environments.

  • easy install and works great
Color: Black Style: 280MP
It does what it is supposed to. The radiator pulls the heat away without any problem mounted on top of the case. You do not need a Phantek RGB controller if you have a RGB connecter on your Main board.

  • Works and is beautiful
Color: Black Style: 360MP
So far so good. Keeping my 5800x cool and quiet. I have both the pump and fans on a fan curve. First AIO... may never go back to air cooled.
