Description

The CHICANE auxiliary braking device allows ZIGZAG and ZIGZAG PLUS mechanical Prusiks to be used on single ropes. It provides continuous additional friction on descents. The excellent compatibility of the CHICANE and mechanical Prusik as an assembled unit ensures smooth rope glide through the brake during ascents. The ergonomic handle provides excellent grip and facilitates movement while limb walking. Thanks to the openable side plate, installation is quick and easy.

Easy transition from drt,drs to srt,srs. Have to buy the H frame biner for this and can be difficult for some to install had no problems my self, really like that it is spring assisted and dosent flop arround like using the singing tree which I might want to ad that the singing tree is not approved to use with the zig zag but before this came out was the only thing available to make the zig zag usable for srt,srs, the updated version of the zig zag is definitely better I personally never liked the swivel on the last version. I do however think that the H frame biner should come with this seing as though you absolutely need a H frame to properly use this device ... show more

This is an awesome alternative to the original rope wrench. It’s so easy to put on and take off when switching from Ddrt to SRT. I love this thing. A bit bummed out you really do NEED the correct petzl carabiner to fit the key hole. Last thing I wanted to do after spending 350 on the zigzag and chicane was have to spend another 25 bucks on a special carabiner. ... show more

Works perfectly with ZigZag as it should. Recommend for anyone doing SRT (single roap) with a zigzag which is made for DRT (double roap)

    • Yeah, it works.
But if I am climbing SRT I ditch my Zig Zag for a rope wrench and prusik cord with a Hitch Climber pulley. This on the Zig Zag makes for way too tall a tower and severely limits places to grab the rope. Nice to have a midline attach however. That is simple and fast. Threading Petzl's carabiner through there and the Zig Zag is a pain in the butt. Love my Zig Zag for DRT. Stow it for SRT. ... show more

Love this thing works awesome with my zigzag ya it sucks having to buy the h carabiner but safety first. No more rope wrench . Now I just need a nice day to go play with my toys lol climb safe and be safe .
