I used it on my feeble lawn… had my lawn guy cut it close... then I applied the colorant with a manual 2 gallon pump sprayer(SPEND $29 and get a cheap electric sprayer it’ll go FASTER)…. I added a lil more water to make it a more natural green (TEST in a side spot), It turned out great! Buy the gallon… it’s worth the price vs the 32oz. Unlike the dye used to ensure proper coverage this is not so easily to get off your hands. I'd also suggest not wearing good clothes. Using a Pertratools sprayer made application easy. It was a very natural looking color...did not look like spray-paint. The coverage was less than listed on the bottle and if you want a deeper color you will definitely need more. As for longevity, of course the excessive rain in early spring will shorten longevity but normal watering will not affect it. Brown grass looks awesome but it does little for bare spots. Overall I will use it again during dormancy in FL ... show more

I’m suffering through brown dormant Bermuda grass at the moment and after a few months it got depressing to look at. Bought a gallon pump spray and two bottles of these babies. I had to cover around 550 sq feet and although the bottle is supposed to cover more ground, it didn’t that’s why it got the 4 stars. I needed about a bottle and a quarter. I did two coats. One coat was light green and the second coat made it darker and nice. Each coat took 2 gallons of water. Be careful with surrounding concrete if you let it sit for more then like 30 seconds without rinsing it, it’ll stain and need pressure washing or a good scrub. ... show more

I've used other brands to touch up dry spots in my yard that worked great & stayed for a long time. For some reason, I believe this created more brown spots on my lawn where I sprayed.

I followed the instructions and mixed the solution and I found it had no affect on the grass. I made another batch less diluted and it started to paint the grass lightly, turning it from brown to watered down green. I made a third gallon and seems to hit the jackpot and getting the right mixture. I redid the same areas and looked pretty good. However, 2 things. 1. I got less than a quarter of my yard done with the 32 oz bottle. I woukd have had to buy 2 or 3 more to get the job done effectively. The bottle says about 1250 sq feet with dead grass. Not true. I only had about 800 square feet to cover and based on the recommendations of the bottle, i felt Petra misled us in wasting about 20 oz this grass paint in order to buy more to complete the job. To me that seems unethical. 2. It already started to fade the next morning. Overall, it didn't work for me. It seems to do wonders for other but it was way to expensive to paint my lawn with this. Adding to the fact it started to fade the next morning, I am glad I didn't order more. UPDATE. Jen from Petra via Facebook contacted me and offered me a free bottle. Now that I know the proper ration, I hope I will have a better outcome. ... show more

Send me every bottle you have, I want to walk my neighborhood route we do with our Golden, SANS pup, and take this with me, touching up everyones lawn! LOL. This is so satisfyingly perfect. Exactly what we needed.! **Important to know (From our opinion and experience) ** Please take note as for all lawns, climates, etc. differ.** I am stating this, based on what I witnessed, and how our lawn turned out. You must have SOME sort of grass, substance in the patched (small or big) area you are trying to cover. This product (obviously) has to grasp/adhere to something. It will not fill a bald, void space, with the new idea of painted grass there. It will most likely not color match your current grass situation to a tee either, I suggest spraying lightly and constantly and moving at all times, you can always go back over and step back to take a full view, before over saturating any spot. It isn't perfect ! But, for us it PERFECTLY did everything we hoped it would, everything described as far as the product was spot on, and we no longer are looking at dead grass. Like I said, if they'd like to send me every bottle I'll waltz around the neighborhood promoting you!! ... show more

I bought this in August which is prime time for fungus on the lawn in NY. I had some yellowing patches not completely dead but definitely not plush either. Mixed 2 1/2 gallons and used about 18oz of the 32oz I bought. Have to admit I was skeptical but this stuff works as advertised. I used a pump sprayer and used a sweeping motion somewhat like you would use a spray paint can in order to fade it into the greener areas and it worked perfectly. Definitely recommend this product for yellowing lawns or pet stains. I’m not sure I’d use it for a completely dead lawn like some videos suggest. It greened up all yellowing areas on my lawn to the point you couldn’t tell the difference. I was very happy with the outcome and impressed by the results. One recommendation is to be super careful when mixing the product. It’s like handling dye ... show more
