  • SO fun!
I had played this game with some friends and loved it! I bought it to play and Christmas to play with family! It's super easy to learn and everyone else enjoyed it too! We play with quarters but you can really play with anything. We found if everyone started with $4 that was a good amount.

  • For the horseracing fan mostly
This game is really well made. The horses are shiny, durable and heavyweight. The wooden board is smooth and painted nicely. The instructions are clear - it's a pretty simple game. Basically, you set all the horses up to race, then roll the dice four times to remove four horses (put them back behind the starting line). Then you split up the cards among all players and remove any cards for the numbers associated with the horses that were removed. Set the cards aside. Each player takes a turn rolling the dice and the horse associated with that number moves forward one. Keep going until a horse crosses the finish line then any player with that number in their hand gets a point. Pretty simple. The game is very simple but it did start to get a bit exciting. Which horse will cross first? lol It's kind of a big game to store and didn't come with a carry case or a typical game box which I would've preferred. I also didn't understand why there are four openings for each area of the scratched when at most, you'd have one horse in a section. Other than that, it was enjoyable. ... show more

  • We Love This Game
Let me start by saying that this is actually the second of these games that we have bought from two different manufacturers. After buying and playing the first one and then seeing this one, I wanted to grab it so we could have one at our son's house when we go there to visit. We just got back from a visit a couple of days ago and took this one with us so I don't have any photos, but I can tell you about the game. Let me just say that this game can get pretty exciting and even raucous as you get really invested in hoping that certain horses win. We had a six and a ten-year-old playing and they even got into it - in fact they were begging to play it every day. It is not hard to figure out how to play but rather I would describe it as more "involved" with a set number of steps to do before you actually start the race. After playing it several times, I will say that it gets easier even though I wouldn't say that the first time was even hard to figure it out. We have also found that you can keep score with a pen and paper if you don't have chips or coins to use so don't worry about that part. The one thing that may give you pause is the price which I think is a little bit on the high end of what a person should pay for a board game. With that said, the first one we bought which was more of a deluxe fancy version, was quite a bit more expensive so this game is a spendy one no matter what. If you do decide to buy this game, I don't think you will be disappointed with the look and the game play because it is a lot of fun. ... show more

  • Title: An Exciting and Authentic Horse Racing Board Game Experience
As a fan of both board games and horse racing, I was eager to try out the wooden horse racing board game. The game did not disappoint, providing an engaging and authentic experience. The first thing that stood out to me was the high-quality wooden board. The absence of plastic gave the game an elegant and natural feel, which was a refreshing change from the typical mass-produced board games. The board was sturdy and well-crafted, ensuring that it would last for many races to come. Learning how to play the game was a breeze. It took only 10 minutes to understand the rules and mechanics, making it accessible for both seasoned board game enthusiasts and newcomers alike. The game's fast-paced nature kept things interesting and engaging, ensuring that no one would lose interest. I did notice that the #7 horse seemed to have a significant disadvantage due to the number of holes it faced. This could potentially be a point of frustration for players who consistently choose that horse. In conclusion, the wooden horse racing board game is a fantastic addition to any board game collection. Its high-quality materials, easy-to-learn gameplay, and strategic elements make it an enjoyable and authentic racing experience. Despite the minor issue with the #7 horse, I would highly recommend this game to anyone looking for a fun and engaging board game that captures the thrill of horse racing. ... show more

  • Beautiful game, but kind of like Candyland in gameplay
I love board games, so even though I've never played (or even heard of) this game before I thought I'd try it. Pros: The game itself is beautiful. The box is nice, the horses (each individually wrapped) are all metal, it includes 2 decks of cards and dice. There is a drawstring pouch to store the horses in. The gameboard is made of bamboo and is solid and thick. Everything is very good quality. Cons: After reading the instructions I now know that there is absolutely no strategy or skill to this game. You roll the dice, they tell you what to do. You do it. The next person repeats these steps. At no time does anyone ever make a choice, everything is pure chance. Now, this might be just your kind of game. I have friends that would be perfect to play this with, and I probably will. I just don't expect it to become a family favorite. Conclusion: Beautiful, brainless game. ... show more

  • Best Game!
What fun we had on game night playing this horse racing board game. It is easy to learn, great and simple directions and so much fun. You will need to provide your own playing chips or you could use pennies, dimes or whatever your choice of gaming chips that are preferred. I can't say enough about how much fun and laughter this game brought to us and our guests. We are planning on doing it all over again on the next game night. We usually switch up each week, but have decided to do this game again, back to back. There are a few ways you can play this game and it is explained in the directions. Easy board set-up, comes with dice, playing cards, wooden board and horses. Buy it and have yourself some fun with family and friends. Highly recommend. ... show more
