  • RIP off
Product may be good. But this people may be think customers are stupid. This has a doble label in the back and expiration day is on Dec-2022. We are at the end of August 2022. That means it will be expired within 3 month. Really!!!??? This is a rip off. Don't buy it. I didn't even try it doesn't look good and it doesn't smell good. I wouldn't use on my frenchies. ... show more

  • A little messy
The balm is like a wax that you have to rub to warm up. It went on my dogs paws easily but when you are trying to rub it in, your hands get a little waxy. My only concern is that the label says, if ingested, seek medical attention. What happens if the dog licks their paws? The product came with a cracked lid from shipping which is unfortunate. I don't think I would get this again. ... show more

  • Jack's paw cracks significantly smaller by the next day!
Living here in the desert, my little dog always has cracked and drying paw pads. I ordered this item because PetLab Co. is a brand name I recognize. What I like: - It seemed to stop my dog from licking his paws. - Applying it was simple, I rubbed the deodorant style stick across his paws putting a generous amount on, then I let it sit a few moments before massaging it in with my fingers. - Immediately his paws seemed more moisturized (photo provided with one paw moisturized and the other doesn't have it applied yet) - 24 hours later I noticed a significant improvement in the size of his paw pad cracks (photo comparison provided) after only one application. What I think could be improved: - The deodorant size applicator is big for my little dog’s small paws. I previously tried a competitor’s product which was in a ChapStick-style applicator which was very easy to apply. It would be nice if a smaller size product was available. However, this product far outperforms the competitor’s product, and I saw a much greater improvement with this product. So even though the applicator is big for my little dog, I would choose this product over that other one. - I also saw that there was a label underneath the back label with an expiration date in December 2022, a few months from now. I’m not so worried about this, as this is a topical product, and I was not sent an expired product. With regard to value, per ounce this product is only slightly more expensive than the competitor’s product I had tried, but because it far outperforms that product I would say this price point is fair. I’m impressed and will keep using this product. ... show more

  • Melted in Transit
Unfortunately, this melted a little while being shipped. I am still able to use it- just a different consistency and a little gritty, but easy to spread onto my dogs' paws (not able to use the "bottle" to apply it directly on- have to use my fingers to "dip" it and then apply). I currently use a paw protectant, but my dogs are getting a bit older and are having some keratosis on some of their pads and are dry and their pads were so smooth after it dried. Just beware- your dogs will try to lick this off of their paws! ... show more

  • Works
I got this balm for an elderly dog who suddenly decided chewing her feet was something she really want to try. Four red paws and a lot of anxiety later and I applied this PetLab Co. Paw Balm for Dogs. The effect of the balm was instant and significant. After rubbing the balm on all four of her feet before bedtime, she immediately stopped chewing on them and settled down for a more restful sleep than she'd had in many nights. Not only was the effect of the balm positive, it lasted. I did not need to reapply it to her feet for days. While this might vary based on activity level and fur type, I was definitely impressed by the balm's staying power. The scent is very light and pleasant. It reminds me a bit of candles, but fades quickly once on your pet. A few things to keep in mind: - the natural composition of this balm means the oils can leak out, so you need to be careful where and how you store this balm - the deodorant style dispenser does not save you having to touch your pet's paws; to get this spread over afflicted area, you will need to rub it on yourself because the stick alone will not give you good coverage or penetration - this can provide a lot of relief to irritated canines, but you will still need to investigate the root cause of your dog's itching and irritation in order to stop it Based on my experience, it is very easy to recommend this balm. It delivered results for my dog as soon as it went on, then kept provided her (an by extension me) relief for days. ... show more

  • Stella's toe beans be soft!
My dog is not a fan of anyone really messing with her feet like that so I couldn't get a good shot of her paws, BUT I will say this - this stuff is good lol. I wasn't sure what to expect with this product, but I know that something needed to be done to help protect my girl's feet, especially with the way this Texas heat has been acting up as of late. I usually rub it on her paws every morning. Granted she's still getting used to it so she attempts to lick the stuff off smh. But after the first application, you can tell a major difference in how the paw pads felt from before. It has a bit of a menthol smell to it with a grainy feel. You can rub it on the pads like a deodorant or, if your dog is like mine and pulls away, then you can get away with using a finger to apply the balm to each pad. I would definitely encourage you to rub it all the way into the pad because some of the ingredients aren't safe for ingestion. My only grip with this product is that it can get a bit messy if you aren't paying attention. Also if you have a dog who sheds or has a lot of fur that grows in between the pads, make sure the fur is shaved out first cuz good night it's like a fur magnent! I think it's perfect for those whose dogs are outside a lot, live in dry, hot weather climates, or if you just want some added protection for your pup's feet. ... show more

  • Good product
This paw butter works pretty well. I worry about them licking so much, but they absolutely love the taste. It’s super greasy and will leave grease marks all over your floors though so beware of that. Overall though, it’s a good product
