Finally! Let me start by saying a few things; the sheets wrinkle out of the dryer, yes of course they do, they are 100% cotton! That IS what cotton does. The best way to deal with that (if that’s an issue for you) is to a) pull them out of the dryer early and lay them flat to dry b) avoid the dryer completely and hang them to dry or c) run an iron over them, before putting them on your mattress (this is my method). I have struggled with sleep issues for the majority of my life; I’ve been dubbed “the princess and the pea”. I have spent countless hours searching; thousands of dollars buying and returning, or settling for subpar quality; purchasing from high end, name brand retailers for the real deal 100% cotton, percale sheets. And finally, These are them. As soon as I pulled them out of the packaging, I knew I would be ordering more. To be fair to some reviewers, I can not attest to the quality of the elastic around the fitted sheet, but mine seems sturdy and well constructed. And the only conclusion I can gather from reviewers who are unhappy about the wrinkling, is that they have grown accustomed to owning sheets that are not truly 100% cotton; and are likely cotton blend, with some synthetic fabric. Because cotton wrinkles. It’s the very nature of the fabric. The value for the quality of these sheets is outstanding! I spent twice as much, for my current sheet set, close to 10 yrs ago, from another high end brand; and they were never as thick as these are. If you’re looking for that crisp, cool, cotton sheet that (if you’re like me) grew up with, or like you’ve slept on in quality hotels; look no further, these are it. ... show more

    • I Wanted Percale. I Wanted Quality. I Got What I Paid For.

$100 Set of Sheets. Definitely a luxury purchase. I have always been able to sleep well so I did not need an "aid" of any sort. BUT... I do enjoy the feel of these sheets. I took them out of the package and put them onto the bed. "GASP!" said the wife. Listen, I slept on the ground in Vietnam for a year. Do you think I am concerned with sheets coming from the factory dirty? Anyways, out of the package the sheets were almost slippery but they felt good. Now they have been washed once... don't worry its only been a week since I got them. After washing, the fitted sheet did have a bit of shrinkage which was good because before washing the fitted sheet did not go on tight. Now it does so that was one benefit of washing on reg cycle and drying on high heat. "GASP?" Real men do things like that. Back to the sheets, they do have a quality feel to them which is noticeable and I expect to continue enjoying that first minute each night after slipping between them. Its probably less than a minute but those first 15 seconds after getting between the sheets, for me, is one of the simple pleasures in life. You take that first breath and a big sigh. Its time for the world to go away. Its almost like being back in the womb. Warm and safe. Man, these sheets feel soooooo good. Yeah, some things are worth extra and I think these sheets are definitely one of those things. Sleep tight, and, don't let the bedbugs bite. After thought: Why 4 Stars? I only "love" living things. Update from 2021: I'm still very happy with my latest set of Peru Pima sheets. Still the same great quality! I was so happy with my first gorgeous set of Peru Pima sheets that I promptly ordered a second set. They are the most comfortable sheets that I have ever owned. The workmanship, and the quality of the cotton, is top notch. The sheets have small, even stitching. No hanging threads or other manufacturing defects. No fraying or pilling. My sets are a beautiful bright white. These sheets are not too thin, nor too heavy. They are soft, but not limp. They have crisp body to them. They are ample sized. I have washed them a few times now (cold water, low dryer), and have not noticed any shrinkage. The packaging is beautiful too. These are well worth the money! UPDATE January 25, 2017: These have been washed many times since I received them last April. They are still soft and comfortable. I don't see that they have worn at all. I recently got a new topper for my mattress that increased the thickness from 12" to 15". The fitted sheet still fits fine. Also, in all this time, no pilling. **Update: It's been two years and I am pleased to report that these are now my favorite sheets. I had to beat these sheets into submission by washing them on the harshest settings. They will always come out of the dryer with wrinkles but I don't care about that, I only care that they're cool and crisp. They are aging well and get better with each wash. They almost seem to be getting cooler and crisper without losing durability. I'll definitely purchase these again. I'd give these sheets six stars if I could but I'm leaving my original 3 star review because it took 2 years to fall in love.** Nope. If you're a true sheet junkie you won't like these. Rough as hell. Not percale. They wrinkle like percale but they don't even come close to the smoothness. I'd buy linen sheets before these. I could wash these sheets with pumice stones and the stones would come out softer. I'll update this review in two years to see if it was worth the exfoliation during the interim. ... show more

These sheets are the highest quality percale I’ve had the pleasure of enjoying. I am not sure how anybody could find them to be rough...they have the smooth feel of sateen with the crisp, cool thickness of percale. I washed these immediately and put them on the bed, and my husband and I marveled at how they feel exactly like high-end hotel sheets. If you aren’t familiar with different types of cotton sheets, you have three main categories: percale, which has a typical ‘basket’ weave (one over, one under), which makes for a ‘stiffer’, cooler, more crisp feel (like you experience in most nice hotels). Then there’s Jersey, which is soft and stretchy like a t-shirt, but also a bit too warm and often cheap feeling. Then there’s sateen, which it seems like most box-store sheets are these days. They have a weave that goes one under, four over, leaving you with a very smooth and silky feel. They, however, are very drapey, very warm, and prone to pilling, usually breathing very poorly. Jersey and sateen don’t wrinkle much. Percale does-it’s the nature of the weave. Embrace it. Linen is king of sheets, and it wrinkles like mad! Anyway, back to these sheets. They are a beautiful, thick, smooth bright white, which ‘floats’ over the body and has a feel like line-dried sheets at grandmas house. They are very affordable for sheets of this quality. Just get them. I will alternate between these and my 100% linen. Also, if you wish to reduce wrinkles, pull them from the dryer while they’re just barely damp, then smooth them out on the bed to dry. One of my favorite recent purchases, and I’m a bedding fanatic! Five stars for sure. ... show more

First off, somehow I spent $100 on sheets when I thought I'd spent $60 on sheets. When these arrived I was already upset at the quality, but I wasn't going to leave a review. Then I realized I'd spent $100 on these sheets, and became irate. $100? These sheets are thin, cheap, and feel like plastic. The cheap sheets I got at Target that I don't care for are definitely better than these sheets, and for $100 I could get five sets instead of one. The problem with trusting amazon reviewers is you have to make the assumption that people have experienced quality before, but clearly none of these people have slept on actual nice sheets. It's like when someone you know has horrible taste in food, or has never had really good food, recommends a place to eat, and the food is terrible. That was my experience with these sheets. Clearly these people have been sleeping on a dirt floor in an old cabin somewhere. That's the only explanation for their rave reviews. DO NOT BUY THESE SHEETS (unless they lower the price by at least 70%). I don't like to leave bad reviews, but this is a major ripoff. ... show more

    • Great percale, questionable durability

These sheets appear to be an excellent percale sheet, which is what I was looking for. They are a medium weight and provide that cool, crisp sensation everyone wants with percale. There was a slight sheen when I opened the package but this disappeared after the first washing. They do wrinkle but that is the nature of percale and I just don't care. They makes a nice rustling sound which reminds me of nice hotels I've stayed in the past. The color is true to the photo. My only complaint is the elastic on the fitted sheet. While it does go all the way around, a must in my opinion, it is cheap and thin and, I suspect, will not last very long. For $100, I expect better than this. Hopefully I am wrong and I will get years out of these sheets. I will not order a second set until I see how long these last. UPDATE! - My original concern regarding the elastic was unfounded. These sheets have been washed weekly and used daily, and the elastic is as strong as the day I received them. Will be purchasing a second set! ... show more
