I bought this kit to repair minor rips in a couple of motorcycle seats. It was easy to mix the color I needed. Read the directions carefully, and it will tell you all you need to know. You may need more than one round with the color layer, and be sure not to remove the texture paper until the vinyl is completely cool. There are also YouTube videos about how to do this. Anyway, my results were very good, nearly invisible. Definitely a great price for two repairs, and including a basic heat tool was very helpful.

The glue works really well on the vinyl interior of my door. Mixing the paint to gray was a little difficult and the end it was noticeable, but I kind of did a sloppy job.

My hubby got the bike he's always wanted. Problem is he's always wanted a 1996 Honda Goldwing so she's got a few age spots...one of which is a tear in the seat. I was a little nervous about this whole process but I watched a few YT videos and read the instructions over and over. This product is pretty easy to use but it would also be easy to screw up. Here are my tips for a successful end result. 1) Read instructions, watch videos for clarification. 2) The kit comes with a little application spatula. I wish it came with 2...one for adhesive and one for color. Keep it clean! I was using alcohol pads to clean off as I went. This worked great on the color but not so great with the adhesive. After the adhesive dried on the spatula I used a fine grit sandpaper to smooth the applicator back out. 3) Take your time and only apply what you need. You are supposed to wait 4 hours after applying the adhesive but it does dry to touch pretty fast. I wish I would have done one side of the tear...wait for it to dry and then the other for a smoother finish 4) Mixing the color. This leather was a real pain to match it's a dark brown w/ a hint of marron. Find videos on paint mixing if you need to. Color doesn't change a ton when dry 5) Apply color sparingly! You can always ad more. 6) I used painters tape to hold the grain pattern paper onto the surface. Let the area cool before removing. I could honestly apply more of the color but my husband and I both agreed to just let it be at this time. Is it perfect? No. Does it show under certain lighting? Heck yeah. I would 100% recommend if you're willing to take the time to do it correctly and understand it's limits.

Mixing colors was straight forward, but the heat curing was more difficult than expected. The color tended to adhere to the texture pad and peel off from the repaired area leaving a rough surface.

the clear filler worked seems to be acceptable that came with the kit. It is very difficult to exactly match the dash color by blending the different colors if you have a dashboard other than a primary color or black. Even if the blended color matches the sheen is completely different. The heat curing of the topcoat plastic resin takes forever. I spent about 10 hours working a dashboard in relatively good shape with mostly very small cracks. The results right afterward look acceptable, but the topcoat then cracked and peeled up about a week later. This product just doesn't deliver the goods at all.

The electronic heater worked perfectly to melt the material and create the right pattern. I used the kit to repair 4 pleather chairs that were badely split and after 8 months only one needed a slight second repair to it. Would definitely recommend the kit.

I've had two of these. They come with a plug-in heater and without. Without you are expected to hold an iron to a plate on the end of a stick, let it get hot, and use it to cure the stuff. This process became horribly tedious and took an hour. In the end there was no texture on my repair. Even worse, realizing that the plate wasn't holding heat, I used the iron directly. I burned some adjacent vinyl. Only buy the version with the plug-in heater. It's nothing special, but with it you can follow the instructions and produce a decent repair in 10 minutes. My repairs are obvious, functional, but obvious, and they hold the driver's seat in my 2017 outback intact and no further damage has occurred in the area. In short - great product if you get the tool. Otherwise, you will feel like a tool.
