I saw this on sale for $5 on Black Friday so I gave it a shot and I was pleasantly surprised. I thought that it would be another bad purchase that ended up in my make up bag. I was wrong! I got the Rosy Nude shade. I like the applicator, the product goes on smoothly and is moisturizing. I usually use a lip liner to outline my lips and didn’t need one because the applicator did a pretty good job alone. After it dries, the color is matte. I wore it to a holiday party and was drinking & eating and it lasted quite a few hours. I had to remove it with a makeup removing wipe and there was still a tint left (after all, it’s a lip stain). On the contrary, I had to put some chapstick on because it was a little too dry after a while. Not a big deal and it wouldn’t prevent me from buying another shade. I don’t wear lip sticks. I barely wear this lip stain. But I was going on some trips and getting pictures done and wanted a tiny pop of color, dang it. So I grabbed this: it’s so smooth. “Velvet” is right. It’s very very very thick and well pigmented. A tiny bit goes a super long way. I like to do two layers and then blot. I primarily use Burt’s Bees peppermint chapstick in the daily, and this allows me to moisturize over it. My chapstick does pick up some of the pigment, but it’s not awful. I am someone who licks and chews their lips if I won’t have gum, though, so it probably doesn’t last me as well as it should. Ie: not the target audience or ideal sample size. But I’m confident that if you are capable of acting like an adult and leaving your lips alone while you’re wearing lip color, it’ll last all day. ... show more

Bought this because it was super cheap/on sale and it seemed greatly loved. I don't know much about the lipstick/stain world, and my only point of comparison is a NYX lipgloss that irritated my very sensitive lips. Very happy to report that's not the case with the Peripera lip stain!!! I don't know if I would call it moisturizing per se but it goes on smoothly on the lips, just lightly tacky. It feels like a thin lipgloss and it has a fuzzy tip applicator which makes precise application a breeze for those of us not blessed with the steady hands of a beauty guru. Love Sniper Red looks a bit warmer in the bottle but on the lip wears to a slightly pinker/cooler shade. It will smudge a bit at the beginning, especially if wet (highly recommend blotting once or twice on some tissue before heading out) It DOES transfer, however, the pigment load is so rich, that your lips will stay unmistakably and beautifully tinted for hours! I managed to make it through an entire very food-centric event with many food textures and still got compliments on my color! One drawback perhaps is that removal can be a pain without makeup remover. Consider yourself warned! For the price, you can't beat its simplicity and reliability. There may or may not be better formulas out there, but for a beauty noob like me, this was a fantastic purchase - I will definitely be back to buy more shades! ... show more

I purchased #20, unsure of how true red it was going to be. It is pretty true red but pulls a cool undertone so it does not make my teeth look yellow (woo hoo). The smiling photo is freshly, thickly applied, and no smile is right after I wiped it off with a qtip and applied aquaphor over it. Once wiped off, it is a long lasting lip stain that is smudge-proof and easy to refresh throughout the day with a quick swipe of a time ltinted balm or gloss. By itself, the product is matte and not hydrating at all. I don't think I'd wear this color freshly applied without wiping it off because it is SO pigmented, but I love the look once it's been wiped off and glossed or moisturized. I will definitely buy it again in a softer shade too! ... show more

This is a nice color that I purchased. It does what it is supposed to but there is some drying to my lips being it doesn't have a moistening effect. I still like it for the color and the amount of time it lasts. I have added a colored ChapStick to it after it is on for about 15min. The applicator could stand to be a little better its a bit cheap there. The product could stand to have some moisturizing properties that would help it stop drying the lips. I bought this initially for my lips. The color is nice and it goes on without feeling too matte or sticky, but I still like to apply an oil or gloss over it. The color is nice. I was looking for a color close to my natural lip color. I’m happy with my choice of #28 for me. The color isn’t smudge proof on me. It is moisturizing and lasts longer than other tinted lip balms, lip glosses or lip tints I have used in the past. I’ll order other colors in the future.

Review 1: This formula feels great on my lips and the color packs a huge punch. The image is freshly applied, but it looks incredibly natural once it begins to fade. I like to line it with a brown pencil so it doesn't feel as bright (not shown). I plan to buy more colors for fall/winter since 26 is perfect for warmer weather months. Review 2: I purchased a trio pack in hopes of finding some fall/winter friendly lip shades. I did a quick swatch of each on my hand. 17 is definitely a bit more mauve than I hoped, but it dried pink-ish. I am ecstatic for 23 because it is almost identical to my natural lip color...but better! 29 was horrible and pulled grey. I'm not sure what use I'll get out of it. I hope this helps! ... show more
