Shipping was fast and the Swivel Bar Stool was easley assembled with no tools needed in about 2 minutes. The box it comes in is pretty heavy duty so it was in perfect shape when it arrived. I bought this specifically for a 40 inch tall table I use as a guitar work bench. So now I can either stand or sit at my work table. When the stool is lowered all the way its perfect for me to play guitar with my feet on the foot rest. I'm 5'8". Of course it adjusts higher for you lucky tall people..but shorter people might not fit comfortably. Speaking of the foot rest.. I like the fact that it's square and not a circle. It's just easier to adjust your feet or swivel the seat. The pneumatic ram seems solid and works smoothly, as does the lever that controls it. In my opinion you can't go wrong if your looking for an adjustable stool (26 inches up to 32 inches) I actually just put a tape measure on it for you. Comfort? well it's a stool not a lazy boy. i was surprised at how easy this was to assemble. Absolutely the easiest piece of furniture to assemble that I've ever purchased. Just 3 parts, and they simply just fit together and are extremely sturdy. No tools required. This is a very comfortable seat with the right amount of cushioning for the tush and the lower back. Just enough support for the lower back. Seat adjusts and the foot rails are perfect. My only complaint, and it's not really a complaint, is that my feet don't reach the ground when sitting at the lowest setting (I'm 5' 51/2"), but the foot railings are perfect. I can adjust the height for when I'm playing casually or recording a video to match the height of the recorder or the level needed for the mic. My only problem was that instructions do not mention to remove the white cap on the top of the center rod. If it is not removed, the up and down mechanism will not work. I was going to return them, but luckily with a bit of investigating, I was able to figure it out. I attached the instructions for you to see what I am talking about. I also sent a pic of the white cap (placed on top of the instructions). I would never have kept them if I didn’t figure that out, SO it’s very important the seller fixes this in the instructions. Other than that, I love them. The seats are good quality. Sturdy, and safe. They have stable base which is so important with kids. And look great. Swivel and move up and down for height! I bought this because my rock club has them in the lapidary shop. Since I'm setting up a workshop in the garage, i needed a stool. It is the perfect height to put both feet on the rung or have one on the floor. (All the reviewers who complain about it being too tall to play guitar on must be shorter than 5'4". The back support isnt really a lumbar support because it only comes to the hips, but it helps me feel secure in the seat, keeps me from sitting too far back (and slipping off) and does seem to offer some support. I am writing this immediately after assembly and initial try out. I plan to update after a few weeks. Unit comes as 3 pieces; the base, the stem/adjustable " absorber, and the seat. Assembly does NOT require any tools just press the stem into the base and the seat onto the top of the stem. Less than 10 minutes including unpackaging. It adjusts up and down easily. I removed a little plastic cap on the top of the stem before I pressed the seat on. I think it was there to cover the lubricant on the tip. Very disappointed in this purchase. This purchase was supposed to be the exact same stool as I had previously purchased. I ordered the EXACT Make & Model based on my previous purchase, but they are different. The seat is different and the pneumatic cylinder is longer resulting in a higher seating position. Well, this is exactly what I needed for home. It's relatively comfortable, it's stable since it doesn't have wheels, and it's adjustable. However, the padding around the "rim" of the seat is wearing out after only a few weeks. That would be where my right thigh sits on the stool, although the other side of the rim is fine. Gotta wonder if I sit lop-sided or something. Hopefully this thing won't eventually cut into my leg. Maybe I should've bought that extended warranty after all.
