I got these to aid in home and business organization, but I did myself a great disservice by being seduced with discounts opposed to studying the reviews; now I'm adding my voice to the fray here to try and dissuade people from making the same mistakes. As others have mentioned first and foremost, these are packaged in a box that is far too small for the contents. The box looks about the same size as a standard ream of printer or lined paper, and forcing the folders in to it caused significant and severe bending in the folder. As I've spent the entire portion of the day trying to flatten them between textbooks with no avail, it doesn't seem like the warping will be going away any time soon. (Not great for sensitive documents, which will easily take on the curve as well.) My box in particular, also came with intense damage to it. The shipping box was immaculate, but the Pendaflex box was barely held together. Decorated with two large holes, and a roadmap of rips between them, it does make me wonder if this is perhaps a "used" or "returned" product - instead of the new item I bought. The folders themselves are also a bit disappointing. I have holiday cards with thicker and sturdier cardstock. While there are plastic "reinforcements" on the bottom fold and where the metal hooks are housed, they are hardly helpful or necessary when a thicker cardstock could have solved all of the same issues and more. Overall this was just an extremely disappointing purchase, and it seems like quality control needs to be worked on immensely with this product.

I searched FOREVER to make sure I found the right hanging folders - I really needed the ones with the plastic hooks, because the metal hooks shave off flakes of plastic/metal from the bars in my filing drawers. I had purchased some years ago with the plastic tabs, and made sure to look for EXACTLY the right product number. Frustratingly, searching for 'Pendaflex 4152 1/5 ASST' returned many buying options with metal hooks. Finally I found this listing, and as you can see by zooming in on the product pictures above, I thought I had finally found the right kind! When they arrived, though, they were the metal kind after all, even though the box shows the smooth plastic. I've spent a ridiculous amount of time researching these stupid folders and read other reviews that said Pendaflex had changed the product over the years while still keeping the name/product number. They need to change the box then, too. And why is it so hard to find a brand - ANY brand! - without the metal hooks?!

I recently bought hanging folders from Blue Summit on Amazon and they were wonderful. The only issue was that they didn’t have pink in stock(thank goodness they restocked!). I took a shot with this brand and I’m very disappointed. My folders from other companies have always had a simple brand stamp at the bottom of the back of each folder. Easy to read but still small enough that the folders looked beautiful as a whole. These folders each have “PENDAFLEX” written alllllll over the inside and have a huge stamp on the back that takes up a third of the folder. I get branding is important but in this case it’s simply annoying and over the top.

The metal tabs on these hanging files are not what is shown in the picture. This is really disappointing because I purchased this brand specifically to get the sturdy solid metal hangers that slide well. They are a flimsy stamped metal hanger that sticks to the rails of the crate I am using and they bend easily. I bought the reinforced type because they are to be used by my students for an entire school year for their "mailboxes" in the classroom. I don't know now if these will hold up due to the cheap hangers. Last Pendaflex hanging files I buy!

The folders themselves are nice. They could stay on the file a little better, but they're pretty good overall once the settle in. The disappointing thing was that I took all this time to make the word document on the template that I got online for these specific tabs, but when it printed, it printed off just a bit, printing each tab name on the perforated lines between each tab. My printer is fairly well aligned and generally prints well within acceptable margins. This is just annoying. I would have been better off handwriting them. But now each tab is ruined. First world problems, but still...ugh.

This product had several problems: 1) The box holding the folders was busted 2) The folders themselves weren't folded in half properly, so that one side is higher at the top than the other 3) It was completely missing the plastic tabs which hold the labels 4) The paper labels are made of cheap, thin paper, which rips when one tries to tear them at the perforations On top of that, this product is available for cheaper prices at other stores.

to me it is inferior quality for a pendaflex product.. "reinforced"? i guess they just meant the extra coating over the top edge. the metal hangers are ridiculously flimsy and thin...bend and distort easily. I had bought them for reserve and it was several weeks before i needed one.. very disappointed.. not a good product for every day use.. if you need it for storage, i guess they'd be ok.. I am probably past the refund time, but I am going to try. UPDATE: even though I was beyond the normal refund window, Amazon agreed to accept the return for a small shipping fee. I felt this was more than reasonable.. I had not actually used any of the folders yet. It wasnt about the $15 for the folders, but the principle of it not being a quality product.
