This micrometer seem to be very well-built and very accurate. The construction feels solid and durable to me, and the carbide-tipped measuring faces will surely add to that. The ratchet stop provides a consistent feel when tightening, which helps ensure precise readings every time. Calibration was spot-on right out of the box. The smooth spindle and clear scale markings make it easy to use, even for fine measurements. It has a nice weight to it which is nice as not only does it give it a solid, durable feel but just easier to use and adjust not being overly lightweight. Overall, this is a great value for anyone needing a reliable 1-2” micrometer.

I was initially wondering about the quality given the price point, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised. It doesn’t disappoint in comparison with more expensive alternatives. Able to measure very accurately. It met my expectations and I would recommend it given it’s a great value.

This micrometer is good quality. The metal is heavy, thick, and sturdy. The markings are sharp and easy to read. It came with zero perfectly calibrated. The dial turns smoothly and accurately. I appreciate that a case is included to keep it safe. For some reason, mine came with a piece of broken plastic in the case, so the plastic may be somewhat fragile. The broken piece is meant to hold the instrument in place, and it still doesn't move around without that little piece. Nothing else has any problem.

This seems like a really well made micrometer. I have some older Starrett brand micrometers, and near as i can tell, this new one is just as accurate. Added benefit for me is that the PEC tools micrometer has really smooth action, and the torque limiting knob has a really light touch. Only downside is you have to learn to read the vernier output, but that's pretty typical for most micrometers, so i cant really complain too much. I like that it comes with a 1" offset so you can really measure anything from 0" to 2", instead of just 1" to 2".

picked this up for some machining projects and it’s been spot on every time i’ve checked it. the ratchet stop makes it easy to get consistent pressure so you’re not guessing if you’re squeezing too hard. the carbide tips feel solid and haven’t shown any wear yet. smooth action on the thimble and the lock holds tight when you set it. comes in a decent case to keep it protected. overall if you need a reliable micrometer without spending a ton this one does the job really well.
