  • Great if I were right handed. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! It's a pearl
Size: Double
it was for right handers, I'm lefty. ALSO, I use a Roland TD-17KV2 electric kit. which does not come with a kickpad pedal. This is an easy review. It's PEARL! OF COURSE IT'S GREAT! My first kit was 1976, it was a Pearl! I bought P932L for left, it was fantast! However, my my very bad back proved too much to play double pedals. SO, I bought a pearl p930 single pedal, and I'm sure it will be great! They took the first purhase of the P930R back and then I bought the P930L, then, now, i got the p930 so it' will secure to the middle of the kick pad and have the beater in the middle of kick pad. We tried but I couldn't get both secure and beater in the middle of pad. No problem. I will sell or donate the p932L. So, GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND GREAT PRODUCT! (PEARL) ... show more

  • Good budget pedal
Size: Single
I bought this to replace the stock pedal on my Simmons Titan 50 kit. I was never happy with it. It felt bad, and it made a lot of noise. On top of that, I have big feet, and I would always jam my toe against the chain and the top crossbar. I got this pedal basically because it was the cheapest long foot board pedal I could find. My foot fits on it just fine. The crossbar doesn't go all the way across on the left side where the big toe is, so there isn't anything for my toes to hit. Plus it's long enough anyway. It's very quiet, and adjusting it is very smooth and easy. I originally went with the felt side of the beater so it wouldn't make too much noise, but it didn't trigger consistently enough, so I now use the plastic side, and it triggers the base drum pad very well. It's much more consistent than the pedal that came with the kit. I feel more comfortable with this pedal and feel like I can play a bit better. This was a great budget upgrade to my budget e-kit. ... show more

  • Yes! Double kick is the way to go and you can't beat the quality and dependability of pearl hardware
Size: Double
Game changer! This Pearl double kick is great. It allows your left foot to join the band. I feel it has improved my skill level more than 65%. I've always felt my left foot was more rhythmically accurate than my right, and having just the right foot trapped at the base felt confining and awkward. I now feel like I am balanced with the same pressure on my right foot as there is on the left. I can play for much longer periods of time, with no discomfort and soreness afterwards, not to mention the monumental difference of being able to syncopate rhythms with two feet instead of one. Thanks Sweetwater and Pearl for depndable hardware and fair pricing ... show more

  • Good Pedal at a Good Price
Size: Double
I have owned several double pedals over the past several years (DW, Pearl, PDP, Gibraltar) but never had bought one brand new (buying drum gear is like buying cars, used stuff is totally functional and the only reason you buy new is because no one else has touched it but you). However, I bought this because Pearl is/was doing a $50 rebate promotion for double pedals so I figured it was a good time to try out a new one. For the price, this is an excellent pedal. Several adjustment options (very easy to do) make this pedal versatile. I have owned a DW9002 and lets be serious, this pedal is not the same thing. But it isn't intended to be. If you want a DW9000 series pedal, you have to go buy a DW9000 series pedal. Don't buy a cheap one and condemn it for not being a professional-grade piece of gear. That's like buying a Ford and saying it is a piece of garbage because it isn't a Ferrari. As with everything, you get what you pay for. So, at this price point, I think the pedal is a great buy. Smooth, adjustable, the beaters are a nice weight, and it seems to be very high quality construction. I also like the look of it (though that is low on my priority list). I don't play metal so I'm not sure how it goes for you super speed demons (who always seem to complain about any pedal that isn't an Iron Cobra) but for casual use in fills or those extra flourishes that just can't be achieved with a single pedal, I think it is great. Mine did not come with an extra set of cams, though the powershifter cams (orange ones) are the ones I wanted and they came installed on the pedal so I don't care. Shipped in 2 days (via Prime) as always and came packaged pretty well (no damage upon arrival). All in all, I would buy again, especially if Pearl does the $50 rebate promotion again in the future. ... show more

  • For me it needs two major adjustments then it's fine
Size: Single
In order for this pedal to feel like all others I've used I had to perform the following two primary adjustments: 1) Remove the cam. 2) Adjust the Power Shifter from Light Feel to Heavy Feel. This is done by removing two screws underneath and sliding the foot board towards the bass drum about 1/2 centimeter. I bought it for use with a Roland KD-9 Bass pad. The pedal's attaching clamp to the bass drum seems to be too short as it doesn't extend as far as the KD-9 is expecting. I was able to make it work by using both of the included rubber spacers but something just doesn't seem compatible between these two products. The pedal is light and adjustments are all easy - I did need to refer to the manual a few times. Neither of the allen/hex wrenches provided were usable on the cam nut, I assume this was a factory mishap, I had one that worked. ... show more
