Description

“Payments Systems in the U.S.” is a comprehensive description of the payments systems (cards, checks, ACH, wires, and cash) that move money between and among consumers and enterprises in the U.S. In clear and lively writing, the authors explain how the payments systems work, how they evolved, who uses them, who provides them, who profits from them, and how they are changing. Anyone in the payments industry – or needing to use payments products – can benefit from understanding this. The third edition updates information about each system, adds a chapter on payments innovation, and includes a glossary of industry terminology. Read more

  • Currently using this book to help with my ETA CPP exam.
Format: Paperback
Although this book was written over 5 years ago the information is still prevalent in today's time and market. FINTECH (Financial Technology) and Payments world is constantly growing and evolving. It's getting even more competitive with the addition of Cryptocurrency. This book provides a blueprint for what currently exists and how these systems work. I'm currently using this book and a couple of others to prepare for the ETA Certified Payments Professional exam. This book is well written by industry professionals who have worked in this field for 20+ years. • Solid overview of how payments work in the US
Format: Kindle
I found this book to provide a high-quality overview of how payments work in the US. If you already work in the payments industry then you're likely already be familiar with a lot of the info. Nonetheless, it is useful to read this well-organized overview to clarify our thinking and fill in gaps in knowledge. If you're new to the industry or just curious about payment system then this is the best introductory book that I'm aware of. ... show more

  • Great Starter Guide
Format: Paperback
Glenbrook, as always, are the pros at payment. They simply explain how the monetary system works which makes it a great newbie guide. However If you do know something about payments already it’s probably just too basic. It is well written.

  • Great overview, but more opinion sections would be valuable
Format: Kindle
I was glad that each chapter was comprehensive but also lean. However - having an optional section where there was more thought and analysis on trends in place rather than a random tenth chapter would have been better.
