Great for a star/galaxy themed party or maybe for new years. They are an iridescent pinkish purple. They are well package so that they can't tangle together. The stars are sewn onto the thread they are strung on so they won't just fall off. They are spaced just right with just two inches between each star. I think these could easily be reused for another occasion if that's what you wanted to do. Or you could repurpose them after the event for over your or your kids bed or as a wall accent.

I got these to decorate my white Christmas tree instead of typical tinsel garland. That worked really well, although they don't throw as many colors as the photos suggest. They're more silvery-white, only reflecting other colors when you look at them from certain angles. It was a more subtle effect than I expected, but very pretty. I had no trouble with tangling--having read other reviews, I was very careful when taking them out of the bag and hanging them on the tree. I took my time removing them and stacked them on top of each other, securing each stack with rubber bands to (hopefully) re-use next year. Only time will tell how that turns out.

I purchased these to hang in my little sister's room as a surprise when she came home from college. They are exactly as they are pictured. The stars are shiny and of nice thick material. They do not seem cheap. Absolutely could be hung up year round. When hanging them up, I used masking tape. That worked okay for the stars I hung in an arc, but many of the stars had to have tape re-applied to stay up. The stars are nice quality, so they are a little heavy for masking tape. I would recommend putting them somewhere you can tie them to something or using a better adhesive. When I put the tape on, it did last over 3 hours, so for a same-day party, regular tape should be suffice.
