  • A new steel-nibbed Parker 51, not a Sonnet
Style: Parker 51 Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1) Color: Burgundy
The catalog entry said the pen would be a Parker Sonnet but the pictures were of a new, steel-nibbed Parker 51 with a medium nib. I like Parkers and the price was much lower than I would normally expect for either a steel-nibbed 51 or Sonnet. I figured I'd take potluck, and as long as the product was genuine, I'd be happy. The pen is solid, and seems to be a real Parker 51. It feels good although the cap is heavier than the plastic barrel, so when posted it's a little back heavy, but its totally tolerable. The hooded nib likes to be held just so, and I have trouble finding and keeping it in it's sweet spot. If you don't the medium nib (per the box) will write thin and a little scratchy, or even skip. ... show more

  • Not worth the money
Style: Parker 51 Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1) Color: Burgundy
I liked the shape, how it feels, as well as the classic look. I was disappointed by how it failed to flow on paper. My gel pen performed better and cost sixty bucks less.

  • What happened to Parker quality?
Style: Parker 51 Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1) Color: Black Lacquer with Chrome Trim
I bought the whole set with all four colors. Parker is so cheap now that it make me buy extra converter for the pens. Gosh! dirty trick for $10 a pop! It is not my grand father Parker 51, look like the pens were hastily put together for a buck! It a twist cap! I thought the twist cap was dead last decade! These cannot even compete with a 10 dollar counterfeit Parker. Just for you know, Parker is no longer in my mind when come to fine writing instrument. Cross and Parker are the thing in the past and I don't give tear to them. The Sheaffer pens, own by Cross, are still very good, but those cheap imitation are not far behind. Those cheap imitation get so good lately after decades of improvement. Recently, the Scriveiner caught my attention, it actually takes the plate on my desk, where it used to be reserved for Parker pens. It's time to look forward, ahead an forget the glory past of Parker, because they don't deserve my attention ... show more
