I own a few cheaper fountain pens (mostly Lamys) and decided to step up. The Parker IM looks really good, and writes much smoother than I expected. It has as nice weight to it, and the cap posts well and clips on securely. It's less wet than a Lamy medium point, but that's actually good. It didn't come with a converter which would have been nice, but my Lamy converter fit well enough - I fill the converter by taking it off the pen first and put the tip of the coverter in the ink, so it makes less of a mess. That said, since I have a syringe, I might just refill the quink cartridge it comes with. All in all a great pen, looks sharp, and writes very smoothly, and I'm super happy that I bought it. ... show more

This is a very nice pen. I've added it to my EDC. It didn't come with an ink converter, so if you're after a converter, you'll have to get one separately. That said, cartridges hold a lot more ink than a converter, so if you can refill it with a syringe, you can just keep reusing the cartridge. I've refilled mine with Parker Quink blue ink several times. The overall build quality is quite nice. The body and cap seem to be made of solid brass, which makes it very durable against abrasive wear. The brass also gives a very nice weight to it, which is very pleasant to write with. The nib flows smoothly and evenly, and it feels like the pen just glides across the paper. Definitely an upgrade from roller ball pens. ... show more

Be it known, fountain pen shoppers, this is the cheapest-made, most expensive fountain pen offered for sale in its class. Parker used to be a trusted name for quality pens, but if this pen is indicative of current standards, those days are over. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.
