  • Made in Japan - Great Quality.
I've used this only twice. Once for ground beef (shoulder) and once for ground pork (butt). Each came out great. Plus it's made in Japan, so my hope is that it lasts for years.

  • Works Great!
This is a really good grinder. It is much better than the old hand crank grinders and the motor is powerful enough to grind tough meat.

  • Quieter Than Waring Pro, Interchangeable Parts is a Nice Bonus, but is Still Quite Loud
I disagree with the reviewers that state that this model is quiet. It's not. It's relatively quiet compared to other grinders of similar design. This is why this model was purchased to replace an extremely LOUD Waring Pro. Just because it is made in Japan does not automatically make it a higher quality product than a product made in China or elsewhere. To me this is a marketing trick. This replaced a Waring Pro. The Waring Pro model is extremely loud, so this makes a nice upgrade because of the noise, and because some parts are interchangeable between the two! The analogous Waring Pro (I suspect this is a copy of that design, or Waring copied someone else's similar design, and then Panasonic copied that as well, etc.) is more powerful but much MORE LOUD. Waring Pro is so LOUD that you need to wear ear protection. This one, however is still quite loud, but less than the Waring model at the trade-off of some power (not a problem for most people I suspect), and the lack of the motor reverse feature. This Panasonic model is a little harder to clean and get unstuck without the motor reverse, however the decrease in noise and a slightly better aesthetic of the design are worth the upgrade. I would still recommend ear protection if you are going to use this for prolonged periods of time, especially if you already suffer from hearing loss as you are more vulnerable to further hearing damage. I guess the loudness problem in gear reduction in these types of grinders is hard to solve while making them economically feasible at the same time (or perhaps it is simply ignored by the engineers). ... show more

  • Dont stick your meat in anything else
Purchased this meat grinder to make a coarser grind for my chili, using different types of cuts of beef. It performs very well. It is super easy to set up and also to clean. You won't be disapointed.

  • Very pleased with this fine quality meat grinder
My wife and I have purchased electronic Panasonic products with satisfaction for more than 30 years, so we decided to give this meat grinder a try. Extremely satisfied, with first use to make ham salad (something not available commercially here, alas, any more, after the demise of Honey B on Texas Ave a couple of years ago). (Anyone reading this remenber the ham salad sandwiches at Reeves on F, then G, street in DC? Well I do, and have tried to duplicate them with this machine.) My! In any event, this is a solid, well-built, quiet (like a blender or food-processor) machine, that, properly assembled (cutter blade toward front, not back!!), will produce a great grind. For our ham salad we used the medium cutter disk, though if you want a coaser grind you can use the coarse disk. Perfection. Does not grind onions well (mush), however. Carbon steel parts (blade, disks, parts of the impeller)are NOT stainless and will require proper storage (use food-grade mineral oil available at your local pharmacy or cooking oil -- olive, peanut, etc. to coat, then store). In this age of crappy products, this one is an exception. Highly recommend! Meatballs next ... ... show more

  • Makes a hard job easy
I don't know how many people use meat grinders any more, but I wouldn't make a burger any other way. I grind up beef stew cubes, and there's just the right amount of fat to make the burger delicious. It only takes a few minutes. I do find that there is leftover meat in the works after I'm done that doesn't get ground up. ... show more

  • Great machine
What a pleasure to use saves so much time, easy to clean, and use. I can't say anything wrong about the machine. Finally, something manufactured with quality vs. the CHINESE JUNK out there. If you are looking for a meat grinder, don't hesitate to buy this machine.
