I was hesitant buying these because of the price, but now that I have them I am very happy with them. It's not recommended, but you can adjust these in 5lb increments (with all of the weighs just as secure as always) you just have to compensate for the weight being off balance (which is easily done by gripping closer to the heavy side). They adjust quickly and easily and are well made. All of the important pieces are metal unlike many of the more expensive brands. They work well with P90X. These can be easily stored away and are much cheaper than a full weigh set. The only drawback I can think of is that they are a little large for some exercises (not that you can't do the exercise, just that you have to be more mindful of their position) This is not a problem when using the full 50lbs because they are not much larger than a 50lb dumbbell, but when you are only using 10-20 lbs they are much larger than what I was used to. I am not a body builder, but I know my way around a gym, so I can't guarantee that these will work for all of the standard dumbbell uses, but I have yet to have them not work for any of my exercises. The bottom line is that if you have the money I recommend these, they work well for P90X, and are well built. These will last longer than I do.

I have owned these for a few years now, and have used them on a regular basis. They are still in great shape and I don't see the need to replace them anytime in the near future. I chose these because they are not like those other plastic style weights, and went with something which would be worth the investment. They can tend to make a bit of noise, so I wouldn't try to use them if you need to keep the noise down, but otherwise they are great. Easy to use, reliable, and worth every penny. The only thing I would point out, this applies to all adjustable dumbbells, is that they are a bit wide. This is unavoidable if you purchase any adjustable weights. However, after a couple workouts, it's not a problem at all. I would recommend them to anyone, as they are adjustable all the way down to 10 lbs, and up to 50 lbs. You're only supposed to do 10 lbs increments, but you can do 5 lbs if you don't mind the weight distribution being uneven, which shouldn't be a problem if you just remember to rotate which side is heavier. However, it can feel a bit awkward, but still an option, I thought I would point out.

I got these to start getting back in shape without taking up too much space or spending too much money. They are very sturdy, I have no doubts they will hold up well over time and use, but their price does show a little in the changing of the plates. The mechanism takes a little bit of trial and error to get used to and I did have to bend the plastic casing that the lock sits in on one side of one of the dumbbells. It had bent inwards in transit (or manufacturing?) and wouldn't let me change the plates. Once I bent it out a little, it worked just fine. When they first arrived, I was worried it was going to take forever to change all four plates because it was a little tricky at first to get it lined up, but it only took me 4-5 weight changes (less than a full workout routine) to get used to them and I can now change the plates in seconds. Overall, I definitely recommend them for a budget-friendly weight set, especially for a more casual lifter.

I love the space savings of these for small home gym. For me they did get stuck quite often when re racking setting them back down into the base on any slightest little angle. So frustrating because once they get stuck it’s really hard to pull them apart. I got a titan stand which keeps the bases at an angle and no more sticking. They’ve held up great for 3 years now, no rust or damage, the base is good too no cracks or breaks. My typical use is twice a week for traditional strength training but seasonal about 4 months per year. The metal makes clanking noises while moving them around. I prefer the sound and I specifically sought out uncoated plate style dumbbells like these on purpose.
