  • QC Issues YMMV
Color: Brass Metal
These aren't bad for the money. That said, a few extra dollars will get you a better product. Pros: - They're cheap. - They work. - They play comfortably. - They were a drop-in replacement - easy to install. - They sound like brass saddles. Cons: - The machining/QC is sub-par. The saddles are different sizes, the holes for the machine screw attaching them to the bridge is not centered on most of them. - As a result of the machining issues, the fit was not perfect, but workable. Overall, I'd say they are a mild improvement over the stock saddles in terms of comfort. But if you can afford better quality, I'd recommend spending more on something else. ... show more

  • Rounded saddle contact points
Color: Black
The finish on these saddles is pretty good. I like the black-chrome look. Spring tension was a bit weak so adjusting them with your strings in tune may be a problem. My biggest issue is the design of the contact area with the string. It is very rounded - see the magnified photo. IMHO, bridge saddles should have a specific and relatively sharp edge where they make contact with the strings. Most folks agree that provides more precise tuning. The same company that makes these saddles also makes a complete bridge with saddles that are designed "correctly." If you like your saddles rounded, these are for you. Maybe you need these if you are bending strings way up at the end of the fretboard? Either way, I hope this helps you make an informed decision. ... show more

  • Decent
Color: Brass Metal
These OVSAL brass saddles offer surprising value for their $19 price tag—solid brass construction, standard 10.5mm spacing, and a design that fits well into Fender-style bridges. Functionally, they stack up well against saddles I’ve paid $75 for, especially in builds where absolute tonal nuance or boutique precision isn’t the goal. The included hex wrench is trivial but useful, and the saddles adjust cleanly enough for most setups. They’re particularly well-suited to mod platforms like a Duo-Sonic, a Squier rebuild, or any project where cost matters more than prestige. The biggest compromise is the finish. Despite being advertised as “sealed with oil,” these are clearly coated with a thin clear lacquer or polymer. I scratched through the underside to confirm—it’s a coating, not oil. That’s not necessarily a problem: if you want a bright, fingerprint-resistant, uniform brass look, it’ll stay clean for a long time. But if you’re drawn to brass for the way it darkens, softens, and develops character with age, this finish blocks all of that. No patina, no oxidation, and maybe a slight dampening of mechanical response compared to raw brass, though nothing extreme. Still, for the price, they hit a practical sweet spot. They’re not boutique, but they’re not junk either. They look good, install easily, and sound decent. If you’re chasing the vibe of a vintage mod or just need a solid upgrade without paying boutique prices, these will do the job. Just know what you’re getting—and what you’re not. ... show more
