Easy to install! We had an obnoxious hammer. It seriously sounded like a hammer when the water stopped! It took about 5 minutes to get both arrestors on. I attached them to the washer instead of at the valve. It doesn't matter if it is at the valve or at the washer. I started a load of clothes and it was amazing!!!! No more hammer! We purchased these for a washer/dryer combo machine and installed them directly on the back of the unit. We've had them for two months now and they seem to be holding up. When our machine switches from washing to drying it does a condenser clean cycle that pulses the water on and off. Before, it was hammering our water pipes; causing a loud banging that could be heard throughout the house that rattled the pipes/hoses. These certainly helped the water hammer noise, but did not get rid of it entirely. I consulted a plumber who said this noise is common and the number one complaint (including himself!) of the newer washers. He recommended I try these.

Product works great! I replaced my outdated washer and installed a new high efficiency washer and upon first wash, the pipes made a loud bang when the washer would call for water. These worked exactly as expected and basically eliminated damn near all the banging in the pipes. Highly recommend!

They seem to be of good quality materials. I installed this on an outside faucet that had a water timer on it and when it shut off it would rattle the pipes. It helped a little but did not cure the issue. Probably needs a bigger dampener. Don't think these little dampeners are enough to make any difference. ... show more
