I regret not taking photographs, as the packaging was exceptionally well-done. Additionally, an air freshener was included. My initial impression upon opening the package set the stage for the quality of the comforter itself. Upon removing it from its vacuum seal, it began to slightly expand. Notably, there are no chemical odors, only a faint sterile scent. The shell possesses a silky texture, though not overly so. It was already slightly puffy upon removal, but I placed it in the dryer with wool balls for 45 minutes to enhance its fluffiness, which proved highly effective. I am thoroughly impressed with the quality of the comforter, and the shell has a cooling sensation. It is neither excessively thick nor excessively thin, making it suitable for all seasons. Although I have not yet slept with it, I can confidently assert that this is undoubtedly the finest comforter I have ever owned.

I’m a huge PACIFIC FEATHER. COMPANY fan as I’ve been using their pillows for years. They are top quality when it comes to down and feather bedding. This comforter lives up to PFC’s reputation. I ordered a king size as we have a king bed. I let it sit out for a day so the feathers could puff up after being vacuum packed. The comforter fits on our bed well There is enough comforter to hang down over about 12+ inches on both sides so we won’t be pulling the bedding of the other person when one of us rolls over during the night. There’s also plenty of comforter length from the headboard to the foot end of the bed. For a down comforter this is lighter in weight than other less expensive comforters I’ve owned. I believe that is because this has more down and less big feathers than the inexpensive styles. PFC uses only white goose down and feathers. A noticeable difference between this and other comforters is there’s not a single feather poking through the super soft poly cotton fabric. The fabric is a blend but feels like a high thread count woven cotton. There are baffles across the comforter so the feathers stay in place. Feather comforters or quilts without the baffles quickly end up with all the down on one side or in a corner and it’s difficult to get the feathers evenly distributed again. This comforter has eight buttonhole tabs. Good duvet covers have buttons or ties inside so when it holds the comforter the comforter stays evenly distributed in the cover. This comforter breathes well in winter and summer. I love the high quality and the lighter weight. It keeps me warm in the winter, but it will be cool and comfortable in the summer. My husband was initially hesitant to give up our microfiber comforter because he thought he’d be too hot. He is really happy with this down comforter and has discovered he’s very comfortable. I am usually cold especially at night. Now I’m toasty warm snuggled under this PFC comforter. I know it’s washable as years ago I owned a queen PFC down comforter and sent it through the washer and dryer every several months. It will help fluff it to add a clean slipper or a couple dryer balls in the dryer. If weather permits some additional time outside hanging in the sun gives the comforter a lovely natural fresh scent. Out of the box there is no odor to the comforter (unusual for feather covers). The price is a high end but reasonable price for what PFC delivers. It’s worth the price as we sleep with it every night. I know from previous experience it will last for years, decades. One of my adult kids is now using my previous queen PFC comforter I had for over 10 years and they’ve had it at least that long. It just needs washing occasionally. I’d also advise getting a duvet cover to protect the feather comforter from spills, dog fur, night creams, and whatever else gets on the bedding. Plus it’s easy to wash a duvet cover bi-weekly or monthly. The presentation of this comforter is almost as impressive as the comforter. It comes in a box with a greeting inside. There is a fun paper covering with a goose design around the product. Under the paper is a PFC fabric zippered bag. With the bag is an envelope with information on care of the comforter and a short history of PFC plus contact information for questions. Inside the tote bag is the vacuum packed comforter. Hang onto the bag. If you ever need to store the comforter if rolled tightly enough it will fit back into the bag. The presentation is elegant enough to make this a great house warming or wedding present. I would give this PFC comforter 10 stars if I could. It feels like sleeping at a five star hotel. And indeed five star hotels, like the Ritz Carlton use PFC comforters and pillows. There is a very noticeable difference between PFC quality and other down pillows and comforters.

This Pacific Coast comforter does indeed look and feel like a comforter that you might find in a nice hotel somewhere. The cover content is 85% polyester and 15% cotton. It has a kind of a silky satin feel to it. The cotton content is noticeable though, and keeps it from feeling too slippery. The fabric & baffle-box construction do seem help prevent the feathers from bunching up too much at night. The feathers do seem to redistribute themselves quite readily upon shaking the comforter in the morning. The comforter has a great fill quantity of feathers, and feels extremely soft as expected. The edges are double stitched into a navy blue strip of piping fabric. This really does a nice job of helping the comforter keep its shape. We ordered the king size. The king size comforter drapes over a king size bed sufficiently. The retained body heat is distributed evenly and feels naturally warming. This is in contrast our electric blanket and heated mattress cover, which don't heat as evenly, and can make the bed feel too warm or too cold at times. Since adding the comforter to our bed, we have found ourselves relying more on the comfortable for warmth, and less on our electric blanket and heated mattress pad. The only drawbacks I can is see are: that it is white; it's not machine washable; and it doesn't come with a duvet cover. It will need some protection from dust, sweat, and spills. My wife says that we have a king size duvet cover somewhere. We'll be putting that cover over this comforter, as soon as we can find it.

I am naturally a very cold sleeper so I was absolutely thrilled to get this new comforter! My wife and I learned a long time ago that we function much better when we have our own separate blankets on the bed so this twin size is exclusively for my side. It is honestly such a relief to have something this warm and fluffy just for me. The filling is a mix of goose feather and down fiber and you can really feel the difference in quality compared to cheap synthetic ones. It has that perfect heavy but breathable feel that helps me sleep so soundly through the night. The presentation was impressive right from the start because it comes in a very nice carrying bag that makes it feel like a premium hotel item. Since this is a high quality insert it does need a duvet cover but that is totally standard for this type of bedding. It has eight tabs to help secure it inside the cover which is a nice touch so it does not slide around. I plan to use this year round but I am especially appreciating it right now on these cooler nights. This is a great value for a luxurious comforter that keeps me cozy all night long!
