    • Good in role.
Unit worked perfectly in my application to authorize a Pro Tools installation on a PC being used for onsite recording. Straight forward installation without any issues. Would purchase again.

    • If you HAVE to have one
First, I whole heartedly hate programs that require a dongle. I do most of my producing on a laptop and usually NOT on a desk with an attached dock, etc so they are the peak of inconvenience. I have a desktop and when there, it has so many extra ports, is stationary and in that config I could care less. I leave it plugged in one of the rear USB ports I wouldn't use anyway. But on a laptop these things are just annoying. That said, if you have to have one, this is a metal enclosure, is sturdy, no seams visible to open or break and it looks as good as a usb stick does to me since I like all metal usb sticks. Nothing else really matters. If you have to have it, this one does the trick. Please keep in mind that NOT ALL APPS USE THIS USB E-LICENSER!!! Steinberg Cubase for example DOES NOT use this. They have their own licenser and it's usually found in blue plastic. Check and double check you purchase the correct one. ... show more

    • Best iLok yet, due to the metal housing
Having a hard metal housing that is nice and small is a huge step up from the previous versions of ilok. Both of my previous iloks broke at the loop over time having been used over and over again. The software is a big pain in the rear, and you will need to install legacy drivers for some software like Izotope Iris, but this is really the best ilok ever. I know people complain about the hassles you have with ilok, but having gone through several computers it is nice to not have to worry about software activations all the time. ... show more

    • ILOK device
It just works, For those of you that don't know what it is it's basically an anti-piracy device that stores your license keys. So your computer doesn't have to be hooked to the internet in order to use the software. I can have the software on two computers, That way I just Take the device with me to use on my laptop when I'm not at the studio! It's very easy to use, just plug it in! I have multiple licenses stored on that device. ... show more
