I love my little pink tool box. I love how it’s super sturdy and has a removable shelf. Even though it’s made for tools, I’ll be using mine to haul my crafting supplies when I have to go to kids’ practices and classes.

    • Pretty Nice Little Toolbox! Not Bad At All!

I have to say that I am pleasantly surprised with the quality of this toolbox. I was expecting to get a much thinner toolbox, but this little guy is quite stout. The main body is made of 20 ga. steel with some 18 ga. support pieces. One thing I always look for in a toolbox is it flexibility, or preferably the lack of flexibility. Meaning that with a cheaper box they will flex and twist causing the lid to become misaligned and you will constantly have to fight it and fix it to get it to close correctly. This toolbox is actually quite rigid with no significant twist at all! All of the exposed edges are nicely rolled adding to the rigidity and of course giving a nice smooth edge so you don't cut yourself. It also has a full length piano style hinge which is a feature of higher end toolboxes and greatly adds to the quality and rigidity. It has a standard latch to hold it closed that is lockable and plenty adequate. The powder coat finish is also much better than I expected and is plenty thick and smooth with no noticeable flaws. The tray is nothing fancy, but plenty sturdy enough and fits well. I personally would have liked a few dividers in the tray, but that is purely just a personal preference and depending on what you decide to use it for the open tray may be better. The riveted on parts which are the latch and handle are riveted on firmly and correctly with no looseness at all. There is one thing I think could have been done better though and that is the handle. It's just that you have this quality made and nice looking toolbox and then they go off and throw this cheap looking, generic, plastic handle on it! It just really kinda kills and takes away from the look and feel of the box. It seems sturdy and adequate enough, I just wish it would have been done a little better. The only other thing is that I do feel that $42 is a little pricey, but not necessarily extremely over priced or anything. I guess that's one of them things you will just have to weigh out for yourself. Overall though this is quite a nice little toolbox. It's a small, metal toolbox that's heavy-duty and well made. It has a removable top tray for frequently used items. It's not supposed to hold a ton of stuff - just your basics. I bought it as a gift and hope with time it will develop scratches, dings and character over the years. Sure I could have bought a $15 plastic one but they crack, latches snap off and they warp. The P.I.T. Portable 12” Heavy Duty Steel Tool Box with Metal Latch are one of the very best made toolboxes I've found. Their quality is right up there with the Kennedy line of toolboxes. These are extremely sturdy and their lids, hinges and latches work flawlessly. These are manufactured to last and give years of good service. As soon as you hold one and open and close it you know how well it's made compared to others. Even the painted surface screams quality. I'm extremely pleased with the P.I.T.
