This scale works great for measuring the amount of propane in a 20lb cylinder. It reads the total weight of tank and propane so that you have to subtract the typical tare weight of a 20lb cylinder, which is 17 - 18 pounds from the displayed reading to know how many pounds of propane are remaining. It would be nice if it could read directly in pounds of propane remaining, taking into account the typical tare weight. It does show the approximate remaining propane to the quarter of a tank. A great feature is that it holds the reading after you suspend the propane tank so you can move the scale to a more convenient eye level to see the reading. This is very handy. In regular weight mode as opposed to LP mode, it reads accurately. The display is lighted. Nice. Surprisingly, the included batteries are from Mitsubishi, not a no name, leak in a month outfit that will ruin your scale if you forget to take them out before storing the scale. The hook is sturdy. The fit and finish of the scale is very nice. It looks like a quality piece of kit. Bottom line, I like it a lot, but till wish it had an option to show the remaining propane not including the tare weight. ... show more

More accurate than the pressure gauge and “scale” on the grill. This has helped me a lot with propane management for my grill, griddle and smoker. Being able to accurately know how much gas is left is awesome and the visual display with the colors is easy to read and to know at a glance what your propane levels are at. There is also the bonus of when getting your tanks filled of knowing that 20# of propane was added to them. The gauge feels well made and durable and will pay for itself if I find that a propane refilled is shorting the fills. ... show more

I bought this to wait my propane tank. It worked really well. In addition when my wife went on a trip, I switched the mode over and weighed her suitcase. I purchased this to weigh the 20# propane tanks, can use it for "anything".. The only issue is small but annoying, the audible tone when it finishes the process is hard to hear. I saw a video on Youtube the same thing happened to him and he commented on it too.
