This is the only hay my piggy will eat lately. He will actually turn his nose up at most hays and go without eating any! I finally i found this good deal and it’s fresh and green and he loves it! I’ve been using Oxbow Western Timothy Hay for my rabbits, and the quality has been consistently excellent. The hay is fresh, green, and smells clean—not dusty or stale like some other brands I’ve tried. You can tell it’s been properly harvested and stored. My rabbits took to it immediately, and they go through it quickly, which tells me it’s palatable and not overly coarse. The strands are a good mix of long and medium pieces, which helps keep them engaged while also supporting digestion and dental health. I also appreciate that this hay is high in fiber and specifically formulated for small pets like rabbits, guinea pigs, and chinchillas. It doesn’t aggravate allergies as much as some cheaper hays, and there’s very little waste at the bottom of the bag. The 40 oz bag is a good size for regular use, and while it costs a bit more than generic hay, the quality difference is absolutely worth it. I'm giving it 3 stars because it's clean , it's kinda chopped up in 3 inch length so you don't worry as much with eye pokes in guinea pigs. What i didn't like was the thick stems . My guinea pigs are not eating it . I've been buying oxbow Timothy hay but , this is the 1st time trying the western Timothy and my guineas won't even touch it ! The last bag of oxbow was Timothy meadow hay , it was more like grass and they love it ! Was Bought from tractor supply ,the 1st time I've seen it there . Maybe my guineas got spoiled with the meadow hay . I will not buy the western Timothy for them again. If they adapt and start eating it I will update this review, but , my guinea pigs don't like it ! UPDATE : It took them a week to start eating it , I didn't see anything wrong with it , I like the way it's chopped up in 3 inch links , I think they got spoiled on the Timothy meadow which I only bought one time from tractor supply, and they loved it ! But , the older guinea has teeth problems and under vet care , so he needs that corse hay for his teeth to file them down , if they continue to eat this hay , I would have no problems buying it again , the hay is green and super clean . ... show more

My 2 Bunnies have been raised on this Hay. They are 5 yrs old and are happy and healthy. I have 2 Large plastic cat Litter Boxes. In them I put a thick bottom layer of any kind of paper. (My old mail or advertising brochures i get at the grocery store) Then i add a layer of Timothy Hay. The Bunnies will go to the bathroom in one half of the Litter Boxes and eat the Timothy Hay on the other clean half of the litterbox. I clean the boxes every 3 or 4 days. They also get fresh greens in the Morning and Evening. Cilantro is their Favorite. 2 Bowls of Fresh Water are always available. I've been buying this hay for over a year. It is always great quality. I love that the top is resealable; however, my one complaint is that you have to use quite a bit of hay at the top before you're actually able to reseal the bag.
