It's that time of year again when we change our furnace filter and make sure the HVAC system is up to snuff. The grey cloth-based duct tape we all know and love is not appropriate for actual duct work, but this stuff is! The tape is composed of an aluminum foil with adhesive backing protected by a wax paper type layer. It takes some getting used to removing this paper but once you figure it out it's easy (hint, bend over a corner gently then bend it back). The tape is easy to handle though, and I was able to re-seal the ducts behind 5 registers in about 30 minutes. It's thick enough to need scissors to cut, but it's still quite malleable. I actually tore through one strip because I pressed far too hard on it trying to cover a gap. One thing I like is how well it the tape sticks to itself so you can build up a layer over such gaps. Another use for the foil tape is for shielding against RF radiation or noise, such lining the control cavity of an electric guitar. I already have good shielding inside but plan to also apply this tape to the rear surface of my guitars' pickguards because the stock shielding layers on those are always thin and flimsy.

I found this aluminum duct tape to be high quality, the normal thickness that I am accustomed to and very sticky creating excellent adhesion. I used this tape to seal up gaps around the AC pipes entering our HVAC equipment. I have used this type of tape in the past for many jobs around the house and love having it around when needed, so the extra length of this roll is one of the reasons l chose it. Definitely a quality product I would recommend and purchase again.

Works just like any foil tape that I've ever used. A little tough to peel the backing paper(like any foil tape I've used). Positively giant roll that is bigger than any foil tape I've ever used. Good value for sure.

Sticks well and enjoy the wider size. Seems like it will hold up well. Doesn't rip as easily as the cheap stuff.

This Owl Tools Aluminum Foil HVAC Tape is good quality, easy to apply, and suitable to task. It is not the cloth "duct tape" that most people know. It is an aluminum foil tape with adhesive on one side, that is covered with a removable paper backing. I believe its primary specific use is sealing leakages in HVAC ducting, but it does have many other uses too. It works well sealing air gaps in and around through-wall sleeve unit heating and air conditioners, and even around dryer vents. It can be used in crafts and other projects, can act as (reflective) heat shielding, and will also stop penetration by radio waves. It can be removed from the roll with the paper backing still covering the adhesive in order to cut the tape to exact size and shape needed for the task at hand.

Above average quality. I used it on thermal insulation sheet on the ceiling. It stuck very well, even with a little weight on it. No sagging or peeling off.

I got this in order to seal up a gas dryer vent and it worked well. The tape is a decent thickness and very malleable; a couple of wraps does the trick. The adhesive is strong but not so sticky you can’t undo a mistake. You can cut it easily with scissors or rip it (less clean of an edge but still works). Also good for making faraday cages for key fobs. This roll is long enough that you will have plenty for your home repair needs for a good long time. Price is only a little more than a standard roll and it’s 3x as long, so if you will eventually use it is it a very good value.
