I am very impressed with these curtains. I like having light colored curtains because it keeps the room brighter when the lights are on, dark curtains make the room feel small. I have a small bedroom with two large windows so dark curtains really darken the room a lot even when all the lights are on. I'm picky, I want it dark at night but to feel open and light during the day! These curtains fit the bill perfectly. I've tried other light-colored blackout curtains in the past and have always been really disappointed with them, but decided to give these a try based on some other positive reviews. They surpass all my expectations. My windows are wide and short and I could probably use one more panel on them, but they still manage to do a fantastic job keeping the room dark at night. If I had any complaints, it would be that they look rather cheap. But they are cheap and they are white and still block light better than much more expensive blackout curtains, so I'm not dinging any stars. I included a pic showing a closeup of the texture, which is what makes them look cheap. The media could not be loaded. These are dark curtains, they definitely back out the light. The thermal makes it noticeably cooler than the other windows across the room. I will be buying more to complete a set of matching curtains. They are nice, easy to hang and had to options to hang with, a sleeve or rings. Well made! ... show more

    • Definitely Keeps It Cooler

I got these for our bedroom, but, after looking the situation over, (too much clutter) I decided to put them in our kitchen instead. Besides that, I'm at my laptop a good deal of the day. I had been suffering from prickly heat and just downright miserable because the drapes we had on our windows wasn't blocking the sun rays. Now, it's been a lot cooler in here, even though we are having a drought, here in MN. Also, they help with keeping our electric bill down since we have drafty windows. However, they still have wrinkles in them, even though I hung them up around two weeks ago. I held off doing this review to see if the wrinkles would smooth out. They are still there, like they were, when I took them out of the package. I'm wondering what I need to do to get them straightened out. I used the plattes, on the back to hang them up. Here, in the near future, I will re-hang them, through the tunnel, to see if I like how they hang better or not. But using them, with the plattes, keeps the sunlight from coming in through the top of the drapes. I'm still going to order more, for the bedroom, as I am, often, a day sleeper. Also, I'm into saving money as much as I can, as we all are these days. Now I'm happy we will be warmer in the Winter and cooler in the Summer in this, our little house. These curtains 100%block out the light when closed. The material is very rigid and doesnโ€™t flow well. Things tend to stick to this material. I have pets that shed and their hair sticks to these curtains like crazy so Iโ€™m constantly cleaning them.

Love these curtains. The material is soft and they look great. Not the most darkening curtains but they do a great job at keeping light out. Picture shows one curtain closed to show how it keeps light out in daytime. The pictures taken doesn't do justice, but they look nice in-person.

I'm not too big a fan of the material on either side but they get the job done. I also didn't realize the top of the curtain was the way it was. So maneuvering the curtains open and close isn't as easy as others. But they get the job done and block out the sun that's for sure.
