My mother's fireplace screen chain broke. It was 45 years old and I needed a new chain. Spent about $35 on two fancy chains at a hardware store and they both broke. Went to a jewelry store and tried a couple of their chains. Both broke so I thought about checking with Amazon for a stainless steel chain for jewelry. Got the biggest one I could get to fit into the pulleys and spent a bunch of hours making it work, but the chain was stainless steel so it was not affected by the heat. Love this chain. I’ve purchased in multiple sizes and have never been disappointed. My only gripe is that it comes in a big loop on a necklace hang tag, not on a spool. I keep an empty spool handy to transfer it onto when it arrives, otherwise it’s sure to tangle.
