  • Great for a long hike!
Size: 35L Color: Grey
This hiking backpack is great for a long day hike. It is lightweight. There are several different size pockets with space to fit everything that I want including snacks, first aid, my phone, water, a towel, etc. The straps are supportive and have the extra parts that keep the weight off of my shoulders unlike a regular backpack which makes it super comfortable to wear. It even has the around the waist support that you see in larger backpacks. I love this because it takes the weight off of my back. The fabric is water resistant and durable. It can hold up to dirt, wear, and tear. ... show more

  • Comfortable and the Perfect Size
Size: 35L Color: Grey
I needed a hiking backpack and so far, I am very pleased with this one. It is 35 liters, which I think is perfect, not too large and not too small. It is fits well on a woman's frame, and there is ample padding to make it very comfortable to wear. I specifically looked for a backpack that came with both a chest strap and a waist strap for good weight distribution. This one does have both, and they are adjustable and comfortable. The shoulder straps are secure and comfortable. As for the layout, there are lots of external zippered pockets for storing various size items. The main section has both dividers and internal pockets. There are mesh water bottle pockets on each side of the backpack which adjust to hold different size bottles, but the placement of the pockets makes it impossible to reach without taking the backpack off. This is the only negative I have with this backpack. There are various loops so that you can attach items to the outside of the backpack. I am using them for my identification card in case of emergencies, my trekking pole, and for attaching my water bottle, rather than using the mesh pockets. The backpack material is sturdy, lightweight, and waterproof. Given how inexpensive this backpack is, it is really hard to beat it. I have already gotten compliments on it from other hikers. ... show more

  • Thoughtful straps for gear.
Size: 35L Color: Black
My favorite features of this backpack are the straps. Not just for skis, but for many types of gear. We have attached tripods and fishing gear, but many items can be attached with these straps. This is not an ergonomic pack, but it is functional and light. It is on the smaller side. Okay for day trips and excursions. ... show more

  • My favorite backpack so far but it needs a bit of tweaking
Size: 35L Color: Black
So far this is my favorite backpack that I would pick over my $200+ backpacks. There are two specific things that I was looking for in a hiking backpack that this one meets. First, I needed a side pouch to be able to securely store my 1L water bottle. My $200+ backpack didn’t have a side pouch that large so it was annoying to have to fit the water bottle in the main compartment of my bag. Not only that the OutdoorMaster backpack has a large side pouch, it is also deep, making it very secure to store the water bottle. Often times I have a backpack with a large side pouch, it’s not deep enough and the water bottle keep sliding out of the pouch. This is very annoying when I place the backpack in the overhead bin on a plane. I often have to go fish for the water bottle somewhere in the overhead bin because it slid off the pouch during the flight. With the OutdoorMaster backpack, I don’t have to worry about that anymore. I can also use the bottom outside strap to further secure the bottle to the bag. The second feature I was looking for in a perfect backpack is the waist strap. Often times you would only find waist straps on a 60L or larger backpack. I’m very excited to see this feature on the 35L OutdoorMaster backpack. I often bring camera gear on my hike and having the waist straps is really helping to make the trek so much less arduous. There are a few shortcomings of this bag that prevented me from giving this backpack a full 5-star rating. First, the straps where the waist buckles are attached to tend to come off of the locking buckle. I plan on adding a strap loop to keep the ends from flying loose so that will help to prevent the buckle strap from coming off. So you may want to keep an eye out on these straps and you may need to find a way to help keeping them from coming off. The second shortcoming is that the bag doesn’t come with a rain cover. Being that this is suppose to be an outdoor hiking backpack, the manufacturer should have included a rain cover. The bag itself is definitely not waterproof, and I doubt that it would be water resistant given the fact that the outside nylon fabric has not water treatment layer like what you would find in a more expensive hiking backpack. A rain cover is not that expensive to add to the backpack and I would highly implore the manufacturer to include it. Other than that there are a few straps that I plan on adding to make this backpack fit my needs. Given the price point, I find this bag to be much more useful and accessible than my $200+ backpack. So if you’re looking for a good hiking backpack, I would highly recommend this one. ... show more
