WY 2 Pack Sturdy String Light Poles is pretty sturdier. It has a deeper center stake for mounting in ground. But the stakes are not as long as the center stake, which can lets the pole lift and lean. The pole sections have a thick powder coating for weather resistance. The pole diameter is ~1" across, but not really that thick from looking at the bottom pole section. It is the welded bolts is what provides rigidity to the poles. There are 5 sections for total height over ~8' or less. The bolts used between sections have no center marker so I had to eyeball how much is threaded between sections. The top design allow for better wire retention. There is a extra section to mount a solar charger pad. There are a variety of well made mounting hardware to allow for multiple or combination of installations from fence to concrete & decks. I had an issue with the threads on the bottom plate being mis-mounted causing off center center stake Overall this set of poles are sturdy and supportive for outdoor light sets. ... show more

They are beautiful and may work perfectly if they are affixed to a rail with the included hooks.... but, if you are to use them, as shown in the pictures for heavy outdoor strings lights, you must know that the mechanism to hold them in the yard as "stand-alone" unit will really not work, you will need to use strings to hold the pole. The 3 pins and the center stick that are supposed to hold the pole don't work. That is the reason why a give 3 stars. ... show more

Got it 2 months ago. Used many times. Very easy to assemble and put up. Take only a couple of seconds to push the pins into the dirt. It is surprisingly very stable. Comes with lots of different type of fasteners to attach to different type of ground. Great for out door decor And plants. Recommended to all our friends came to the pool party! ... show more

I am sure if this was bolted into a wooden deck it would be perfect - I am using it in the ground - and NO pushing it into the ground is NOT as easy as they make it seem - had to use a rubber mallet. It might be better for going into concrete or wooden deck but going into grass it is very unstable and definitely not straight. We bought two boxes of these, 4 poles total. Was a waste of money. In fact one of the stakes got stuck into the ground because the weld broke. Definitely would not recommend. ... show more
