Update: I pulled a few guns from my safe that I cleaned only a few weeks ago. The cleaning session that prompted me to order a new kit when I couldn't clean my .17. Well, ran a patch with some oil just to test and while the other kit provided clean patches, these came out BLACK! So, I sat in the living room and wound up cleaning the ones for my upcoming range date with my wife, again with the Otis system. I thought they were clean! When I get out some more, I will post pictures of the other patches versus the Otis. Original Review: So, you know the old saying: you get what you pay for? It is true! This kit may be a little more expensive than others, but unlike the others it does have just about everything you will need. (Might be a couple of brushes you need or need bore cleaner.) I have bought no telling how many universal cleaning kits in the past, that weren't universal and rods fell a part, brushes disintegrated. Then, when your first gun was half cleaned, you had to either make do or give get something else. Otis isnt that way in my experience. Their stuff lasts. It works. I carried a little military issue kit for years overseas and stateside. It worked. Worked for most of what I have. Then it grew legs, and I upgraded to this kit. Now here is the true Otis difference. I had a problem. I emailed Otis before going back to Amazon. I got a direct response the next business day. They took care of the issue, really quickly! I can't say enough how awesome their customer service has been. If I had not just ordered some other bore cleaner and oil, would be ordering theirs. Their products are awesome, and if their customer service continues, i will never order from any other company. It might cost a little more than others, but it lasts and is worth it. I mean 12 years with a tactical kit which got dropped, packed, shipped, and everything else should speak volumes. Only reason it was replaced was it came up missing.

I've used Otis for a long time, but I have a variety of weapons, and this one covers everything. The case is very important to me, it makes it easy to put things back, which I had problems with. If you buy all the items separately, it would cost a lot more. If you do multi calibers, you will eventually need everything here, and you will find it, so just bite the the bullet and get this kit. Buying the stuff separately costs a lot more, and the case is a huge plus. I would say that if you have a shotgun, and 5 rifle/pistol calibers, WOW! By the way, the OTIS system is the best way to clean your guns, so that matters the most. Just a cheaper way to do OTIS with this kit, and not worry about if you have what you need to use.

I own multiple firearms in seven different calibers, shotguns, pistols, and rifles. I wanted a kit that would give me everything I needed to clean them in one package. A friend of mine recently bought a small kit from Otis for his M1. The quality was excellent so I looked into their products, and found this kit which is exactly what I was looking for. Everything came well packed and fits nicely in the range box with plenty of room left for anything I might need in the future. I know this kit doesn't come with rods, but I had a surplus M16 cleaning kit with steel rods already so that wasn't a deal breaker. I couldn't be happier with the quality of this kit.

I was hesitant to order this having read the other reviews, but having experience with OTIS through several years in rye army, I decided to go for it. I did a quick inventory and it appeared to have everything as listed on the packing list. I should have expected no less than the best from them, except when they put gerber brand multi tools in their cleaning kits, but that’s more gerber’s fault.
