UPDATE: Great travel backpack. Used it for a short, overnight trip. It can hold a lot more than you may think. I love that I can expand it if need be. Comfortable straps. Easier to carry than a duffel. Looking forward to getting a lot of use out of this. Excellent quality with a slightly rugged look but premium feel. Some people (mostly women) have complained about the straps being uncomfortable for petite shoulders. As a fairly petite woman, I don’t ever plan to use this as a daily carry or anything. So I’m not gonna be wearing it for long stretches. I will always take a separate packable bag for such use. ORIGINAL: Wow! 5/5 out of the box. Scored mine for $65. It was the only color at that price for whatever reason. Color is not a priority for me; it doesn’t affect its functionality. Haven’t used it yet, but it’s made with great quality materials and it’s the perfect size for up to a week of travel I’d say. Five days or less would probably be ideal though. I plan to use it for an overnight trip coming up. I like that the company seemingly listened to the masses and subtracted one of the pen/pencil pockets. Three was too many, and now one of the side sleeves is larger allowing more room for something like a passport. Nice modification from Osprey. Truthfully, this is probably the nicest backpack I’ve ever owned; it’s the only travel-specific one I’ve ever purchased. I do own a very nice Osprey hiking/backpacking pack, but that’s a whole different thing with different use cases. I’ve liked Osprey since, and I’ve wanted one of their travel backpacks for a while. Their quality and lifetime guarantee are unmatched. I like the clamshell opening of the main compartment on the 26+6. Very little in the way of organization, but I knew that before ordering. I may use packing cubes to solve this issue. The one compression strap in the main compartment doesn’t make a ton of sense to me; there should really be two or the one strap should run perpendicularly instead of horizontally to really be effective. I don’t have much else to say since I haven’t gotten proper use out of it yet. I’m very pleased with it upfront though. I’ll update my review after putting some miles on it. ... show more

This bag is almost perfect. It has the right size, with enough compartments to separate items and very easy on the shoulders when carrying it. There are pockets of different sizes to fit anything that you need to bring. There is even a wide bottle holder on the side. It can be expanded further to accommodate more room for your things. It is sturdy enough to withstand almost 10 kgs of weight inside it. Because of the size, it fits the underseat of most international airlines. The only gripe I have is the weight can be lighter. I took the bag on its first outing - two long haul American flights and one shorter United flight. It was nice to be able to access the laptop slot where I kept my iPad and kindle. It fit well under the American seat, with room for one of my feet alongside the bag. It fit under the United seat but with no extra room. It carried through the airport well on my back and I used the sleeve for some shorter stints. My only complaint is that the firmer back meant that I could not squish it smaller under the seat. ... show more

I love this back pack. I have the gray one purchased on Amazon this spring seen in this photo, my husband liked it so much he asked me to order him one in black. The side clamshell style is nice for loading and working out of on a bed or table. I don't mind the laptop being part of the main pack, you can just open a little and nothing falls out. The pocket on front is perfect for a couple tiny items if you don't over stuff it. I put passport, a little card wallet and my iPhone. The little pocket on top hold my reading glasses and AirPods. It is small enough that I don't overstuff and make it painful to carry, fits better under aircraft seat (see photo) than my other larger packs. The water bottle pocket is tight, if you overstuff the back it will be hard to get this in. I found the 25L taller bottles fits better because they are more slender. I wanted one that would be considered a personal item since most airlines are getting stingy with what gets on the plane free anymore. I got a compression clothing bag to use so the my clothes fit tighter in this pack making it easier to use. the Expending zipper is what sets this apart from any other pack, the best feature by far!!!! I compared this in my photos to the Refugio 30L, Mini MLC 30L and the BlackHole 25L. This one won out hands down. BUY THIS BACKPACK, you won't be sorry you did. This backpack was a gift for my husband. He chose it, and it's all he needs for a few days traveling. It opens like a suitcase, so it's easy to pack and has plenty of pockets. It's lightweight but well made. It's easy to wear. I like it so much I'm considering getting one for myself.

Positive Aspects: The backpack appears to be a quality product made of durable materials. The zipper tabs and zippers themselves are good. The size of different pockets are well done. The side bottle holders are long enough to safely hold medium sized water bottles. Negative Aspects: The quantity of zippers and the poor security features were disappointing. The front top pocket of my backpack wasn't deep enough to prevent items from falling out when I opened it. This occurred because the pocket only has one zipper. The pocket needs two zippers, which helps control the location and size of the opening to the pocket. Lack of a second zipper and the shallowness of the pocket caused items to fall out of it when opening it on a plane during a recent trip. Also, having two zipper would allow the pocket to be lockable, for example to securely hold a passport. I would not use any of the front pockets to hold anything of value because none of them are lockable. Only the main compartment is lockable (has two zippers!). The zipper access to the computer pocket also has only one zipper but the zipper can be locked to a loop. On two recent flights, the pack did not go completely under the seat in front of me even thought it was not in its expanded form. Airline staff did not seem to care. I saw other people around me having the same issue with their carry-ons. In summary, it is a well made backpack and passed as a carry-on in my travels, but if I had know only the main compartment has two zippers, I likely would not have purchased the backpack. I like the Osprey brand, but can't give it 5 stars. ... show more
